WSWalkerParticipantThere are two sets of stairways on Hudson; one from California Ave.to 42nd Ave and the other is between 41st & 40th. The one between 41st & 40th has become a repository for dog poop bags. What is wrong with you people (and you know who you are)? It is disgusting, unsanitary and one more symptom of the breakdown of civil courtesy and respect for others and public property. Carry your dog’s poop bags home with you.
In addition to dog poop, both stairways seem to be nighttime hangouts and those doing the hanging leave behind mounds of trash. Does anyone care?February 13, 2017 at 2:54 pm #874086
WS5ParticipantPretty Gross huh, the stairs on 46th is kept up by the neighbors on 46th and 45th. Lots of trash, large items that have been dumped etc. The neighborhood cleaned the staircase up themselves including cutting down the plants luckily the city picked up the trash once it was bagged up. Lots of middle and high school students hang out on them eating and smoking.

SusanTParticipantHwllo,
Dog owners in West Seattle are very rude. They tie their poop bags to my trees or hide them in my bushes. I walked up that staircase to California Avenue with my small niece and there were poop bags lining the stairs, and I bar b q and peoples personal trash. It is unsanitary and unsightly.
The curbs are also filled with dog-poop from people who do not use the bags.
As the community is growing it is the problem is getting worse.
I wrote an email to our Councilmember Lisa, I am awaiting a response.
West Seattle is a beautiful neighborhood. It should be respected.February 21, 2017 at 9:11 am #874998
HMC RichParticipantI am amazed that those owners actually took the effort to bag the dog poop and then drop it elsewhere. It is rude and selfish.

TrileighParticipantFunny this thread should appear today. I was slow bringing in my garbage can after yesterday’s pickup – and found not just one but two poop bags in it. Folks, please don’t contaminate your neighbors’ bins; take your dog’s bag to your own or a city can.

Tony SParticipantYep, every single dog owner in WS (including me) is rude. Thanks for the clarification. For petesakes, like everything else in life, there are jerks and good guys. The IDIOTS who bag their dog’s crap and then throw it away are worthless, I get it. But keep in mind they’re the minority morons.
I’m always amazed at how angry people get when someone throws their bagged poop into someone’s garbage can. It’s a GARBAGE CAN! It’s not sanitary! How can you contaminate it any further than it already is?

KBearParticipantWell, at least have the decency not to toss it into someone else’s empty can right after the garbage was picked up.
