borrisParticipantHow can we get rid of the mole(s) that have completely destroyed our new lawn? We’ve tried the solar repellant sticks and it seems to have made them more industrious. Not a fan of killing or trapping…

maddyParticipantI assume you are doing lots of watering. Less watering means fewer moles. Moles are attracted to wet soil where they find & eat lawn grubs, worms and insects. Killing is the only way to eliminate them, but when one mole
is gone, another comes. Rake the soil they push up – don’t push it down and block the tunnel – so they won’t be inclined to make more tunnels.

acemotelParticipantThere is a repellant made of castor oil which is available at Home Depot, and I have had success with it, but you have to be diligent and put it down often, especially after it rains. I also bought some bobcat urine online, which supposedly works really well, but I haven’t used it long enough to know if it’s effective. The bobcat urine also comes in granulated form. I am using the bobcat urine in addition to the castor oil because I’ve read that the critters become accustomed to the smell of whatever you’re using, eventually.
