PeachesParticipantI’m new to the forum–been lurking for awhile and following some of the threads. What a feisty bunch you are!! Looking forward to meeting some of you at a future gathering.
I’m hoping the collective wisdom of the group can point to me a WS-based shampoo and simple cut for under $20. I’ve been going to the Gene Juarez Academy in Northgate for years–never had a bad cut. But my carbon-emission sensitivities are seeking a closer-to-home, perhaps bikable alternative. My hair is ridiculously easy to cut and I agonize over spending $20+ on it!

inactiveMemberHey Peaches –
I don’t personally have a recommendation for a $20 haircut, but I recall that there have been many recommendations of others posted here. If you use the “Get Widget” in the upper corner you can search “haircut” and all of the previous posts will come up for you.
Good luck!

RainyDay1235MemberHairMasters at Westwood Village is $20 with tip for shampoo and cut….

JanSParticipantpeaches….how short/long is your hair? My hair is short. I wash it myself, and go to Westside Barber at 3443 Calif. Ave. Charge is 20 bucks plus tip. Ask for Heidi when you make an appointment. She’s not there on Mondays.
Unfortunately if your hair is longer , it may cost more.

PeachesParticipantMany thanks, all, for the great suggestions. I had a feeling this group could offer an assist. Hairmasters in Westwood is actually walking distance from my house–an inexpensive haircut and a little exercise. Sounds like a great bargain!

flipjackParticipantGo to Salon Le Rouge. 13 bucks without tip. The owner is Anne and she’s great. I can usually get in when I want.
Her place is on 35th ave right by the Pizza Hut in Morgan.

AlParticipantSecond Salon Rouge recomendation – I’ve been going to Anne for several years now with no complaint. She’s great!

RainyDay1235MemberVery cool – love giving money to local businesses, but also can’t justify more than $20 for a haircut – next time – thanks!!

JanSParticipantSo..flipjack and Al…I’m assuming that you’re both guys…and that’s the price for short short guy hair…does she differentiate for women? higher prices if your hair is longer? just curious…
apologies if I assumed wrong :)

saneyMemberi go to Anna at Hairmasters in Westwood. she is fantastic.

flipjackParticipantMy wife says Anne at Salon LeRouge charges $17 for women. And yes that includes wash. It’s a nice clean place too.
July 8, 2008 at 3:39 am #630350
PeachesParticipantWell, Salon LeRouge is only a bike-ride from my house, and is a local business (love to support them whenever I can), so I think I’ll try them out. I only manage 3-4 haircuts a year, but at that price and that close to my house, I just might splurge for more! Anna at Hairmasters will be my fallback solution. . .
Many thanks for all the great info–nice to keep my dollars in West Seattle (and out of my gas tank!)

AlParticipantI’m a woman, so use the $17 cut. I have curly hair too so to find someone who can cut my hair correctly is a bonus.

adkenParticipantSeasons Salon on the Junction is excellent, corner of Alaska and 42nd – walk-ins and only $14 (cut only) I believe is the price, men or women, kids are a little less. Our whole family goes there – and you come our looking stylish. Takes about 5 minutes, sometimes there is a wait.
