I am working on a will with Jamie Clausen at Phinney Estate Law. I’ve been very happy with her approach and like the fact that she is not at a firm. I noticed on the fee schedule that she does provide help for uncontested divorces. I have no experience with how she handles divorce cases, but I am impressed with her professionalism, attention to detail and she is very easy to get along with.

Hi ws4ever, I don’t have any direct experience as you asked, (never needed a divorce lawyer) but would recommend Lynn Barker. http://www.wpblaw.com/profiles/barker.asp

She’s a friend of mine, and in my experience as such, she is a very kind, compassionate, intelligent, and ethical human being. I have no doubts that those qualities carry over to her professional life as well.

I normally wouldn’t go against parameters a poster sets for their requests here on the Forums, but feel so strongly about Lynn as a person, wanted to share this with you.

If you decide to contact her, please mention that “mike in west seattle” suggested you contact her, if you’d like.

Thanks, folks, for your suggestions that I’m seeking for a friend who has unfortunately been underwhelmed recently by contact w/ 2 divorce lawyers, one of whom quoted one fee on the phone and at the first meeting encouraged her to sign first and then read at home a full statement that had higher fees!

I also highly suggest Deborah Bianco, who fit all the criteria I listed and helped make the process as humane as possible.

Thanks! I’ll report back to my friend with your suggestions.
