Lets get down to brass tacks. If the Republican party put a black man as our nominee, they would destroy Obama this time because the economy is in such bad shape.

Which brings me to the next point of conjecture. Ann Coulter (which many of you abhor) has shown how Obama and his cronies have used sex as a political weapon. First to get to be a Senator and now as President from a scary candidate.

    http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2011-11-09.html

It is such “coincidence” that Mrs. Bialek lives in the same building as David Axelrod. Wow. And Herman Cain didn’t visit Chicago. And somehow it was OK for records to be pulled by the Illinois Restaurant Association.

    Hmmmm, makes you think. Huh.

Anyway, this is helping Newt. He will crush Obama.

Rich…I shouldn’t dignify that with an answer but…this has nothing to do with him being a black man. Ann Coulter has nothing to do with anything. If you believe anything she says…if you listen to her, then I’m very sorry for you. I thought you were more intelligent than that.Wow…you sure are drinking the koolaid.Ann Coulter will say anything to get a response from people. And it looks like she did.Give me facts, Rich, not the ravings of a lunatic.

I love how you all turn this into a tit for tat thing. Clinton did it, so it must be OK for everyone else in the world to do it. And then you throw in UNFOUNDED things about Obama, and believe them…and everything turns silly. What the he!! are you smoking, Rich?

    Eye of Newt..seriously?

    kootch…

trashing the victim is why women were once taught not to report sexual assaults of any kind…

especially not those committed by their own family members.

“If the Republican party put a black man as our nominee, they would destroy Obama this time because the economy is in such bad shape.”

So you think the only reason Obama was elected is because he is a man of color?

    Probably not.

but if you follow that reasoning, Condolesa Rice is a good dark horse candidate for the convention.

    She’s a woman of color..

you would get a real two-fer.

but you go on backing Newt

he is sure he has so much to offer the world

and he is sure the world has much more to offer him

He is a man who understands the cookie jar concept really well

First Jan . we have been in this rodeo long enough to know that many a man has been pilloried for all sorts of abuse charges for divorce leverage, custody fights, revenge, little extra in the alimony check and oh my yes,, greenmail. Go ahead say it doesn’t happen…I gotta lot of URLS for ya if ya do, Yea she does have all the earmarks of a serial greenmailer And a co-conspirator too… wonder when that attorney comes under scrutiny? . Note too, none of her accusations were found to have merit. Any male that would hire either one would be one dumbass.. do the backround checks. Don’t think every man in the biz world hasn’t thought that one out the last three weeks. Sexual harassment charges and poison.. the two female weapons of choice. Newt has some faults for sure… but Obama took the whole damn bakery. His level of crony corruption is a high water mark. I think we were enraptured at the thought of a black president. An erasure of past sins. Yes, that had a lot to do with it and a weak republican slate. Now we were ready to elect a black candidate… but a woman? Nah. That;s expecting way too much.

    “Sexual harassment charges and poison”

    ROFLOL

i agree it is more effective to poison abusers

if you are smart, you are far more likely to get away with that crime than successfully prosecute for sexual harassment…

but… if it is as you postulate…

if Herman Cain is so stupid as to keep hiring women who will exploit him

what does that say about his qualifications for the presidency?

    thanks for the morning laugh…

you are so good to get my endorphins going

because no matter what fellas like you say

you don’t really believe women are your equals do you?

you couldn’t talk about them the way you do if you did.

granted, my prejudice is showing here, but I think this is a very funny article, and I love the way Gail Collins writes. I’m sure I will get comments for being one sided, but , hey, here it is:

“Newt, on the other hand, is always good in debates if you like extremely pompous people who appear to be practically levitating with their own sense of personal wonderfulness. During the last outing, Gingrich’s most fascinating moment came when he explained why the mortgage lender Freddie Mac paid him $300,000 in 2006. First of all, it had nothing whatsoever to do with lobbying, or attempting to influence the Republicans who happened to control Congress at a time when there was talk of clamping down on the way Freddie operated. Just put that out of your mind.

No, Gingrich explained very clearly that Freddie gave him the three-hundred grand for his “advice as a historian.”

This is fantastic and important news. Right now a great many college students are trying to decide on a course of study. Some of them would probably like to major in history but are wondering if they should pick something that might be more lucrative. Not to worry, college students! Look at Newt. Three-hundred-thousand dollars for advising! And the way he described it in the debate, it appeared to involve about only an hour of his time.

So, if given a choice between an M.B.A. in finance or an M.A. in medieval studies, you know where to go. And tell them Newt sent you. “

re: gingrich: the missus has postulated that newt is only up there to give “credibility” – such as it is – to the slate of republican whack-jobs that are running for president. she noted his penchant for giving credence to other candidates’ statements during last night’s debate.

btw, michelle bachmann “absolutely would waterboard” if she is elected.

i think we’ve found the next dick cheney.

regarding herman cain, i want you all to note that i’ve never accused the man of lechery. and unless you were in the room when the alleged acts took place, you can’t possibly know what transpired. no one in these forums can absolve or indict him.

    that goes for clinton, too.

however, in multiple instances, cain has been the subject of accusations of lechery. in my opinion, he has handled these allegations and the subsequent questions badly, and that speaks to his proficiency as a leader.

and like anthony weiner, he has put himself in an untenable position.

to those of you who say that cain is the victim of a smear campaign, let him sue for slander and libel. after all, the legal test for defamation is, “is it true?”

gotta agree with ya on that redblack. But you see the golden apple in a lawsuit is when you do sue… ya need to get some money. An unemployed, twice bankrupt, accuser is hardly worth the effort. That would be the epitome of good money after bad. I wonder, what percentage of women have litigated as a portion of the general population? Let alone twice?

    JoB? Fannie Mae campaign donations

    Dodd, Christopher J S CT D $165,400

    Obama, Barack S IL D $126,349

    Kerry, John S MA D $111,000

    Kanjorski, Paul E H PA D $96,000

    Reed, Jack S RI D $78,250

    Clinton, Hillary S NY D $76,050

    Conrad, Kent S ND D $64,491

    Pelosi, Nancy H CA D $56,250

    Carper, Tom S DE D $55,889

    Emanuel, Rahm H IL D $51,750

    Frank, Barney H MA D $42,350

    Bean, Melissa H IL D $41,249

I omitted republicans because I chose to skew the data in my favor… (there were a lot of em”) no wonder they let the Senate bill to audit them die in committee… and what the hell is GSO doing lobbying their regulators? Crony capitalism… they sure spread it around. Now about those millions in bonus payments and the 5 billion the are asking congress for.. again..

    Makes ya sigh in despair…

Glad ya caught the tag line…and the humor. You know we are going to have to submit some day… But my favorite of the day

“So, if given a choice between an M.B.A. in finance or an M.A. in medieval studies, you know where to go. And tell them Newt sent you”

Like Speaker of the House, years in congress, years of research, oversight and knowledge of a vast GSO, and the evolution and acquisition of knowledge one would expect any person of intellect to acquire couldn’t happen? It was his job to have the historical perspective of Fannie Mae.. the Obama appointees would have none, now would they? Maybe they wanted the observations of a ring seater for the fraud and accounting scandal of Franklin Raines?

Ole Clinton sure had his problems with finance didn’t he? CRA lawsuits against banks, signatory to the the repeal of Glass Steagall… and of course this.. “Mr. Raines, a prominent Washington figure who was President Bill Clinton’s budget director, has agreed to pay $24.7 million, including a $2 million fine. Mr. Howard is paying $6.4 million and Ms. Spencer $275,000.” As Maxine Waters would gush…” under his fine leadership” … he drove Fannie off the cliff and still you don’t see the connections that bind. Financial Services Modernization Act Of 1999.. the big coffin nail in bundling crap mortgages into packages… the bundles Franklin bought and bought and bought…

Yea I am betting ole Newt would be the smartest man in the room on all things Fannie.

Jan? What tenuous threads you have to consistency; Yes, Democrats do do dirty, vile, reprehensible acts. Now you may not like AnnE Coulter (no surprise) but the article has yet to be repudiated… other than to attack the woman who wrote it! Where is your sister solidarity?

you had to go way back in the posts to single me out, didn’t you? Yes, some Dems are indeed vile and reprehensible. Common sense would tell you that being a dem doesn’t absolve one of that. And I don’t support women just because they are female.

“hardly worth the effort?” of saving one’s presidential aspirations?

the fact that cain doesn’t scream “defamation” speaks volumes, too.

    Total $4,844,572

add up the numbers you posted above, kootch. less than a million dollars went to democrats. personally, i don’t think a dime should have been taken by democrats, but the 4:1 ratio of republican to democratic donations is telling.

Yea… I remember the hysteria all the new “revelations” about the Duke LaCrosse team.. had all the elements for a a democratic journalistic orgasm…. white, male, elite, wealth… say… did the prosecutor go to jail in addition to being disbarred?

And you guys are ok with this? Just curious…

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Sunday that he strongly supports a federal mandate requiring citizens to buy health insurance – a position that has been rejected by many Republicans, including several who likely will be running against him for the Republican presidential nomination.

lol..criticizing Gail Collins here? Tell her, not us – lol..

    I think it’s a great line. Newt is selling books…but he ain’t presidential material…

and what does the Duke LaCrosse team scandal have to do with anything here? Have you seen Herman Cain’s “oops” moment? He was truly lost when asked about Obama and Libya. Even I could have answered that question. He looked like he was trying to remember what his “handlers” told him to say if asked about it.Looked like he was mentally going through the check list of things, and got lost at the wrong soundbite. But if Obama did it, he would have to disagree. And then he said those words that Republicans hate..he was for collective bargaining…not a smooth move, for sure.

http://www.opensecrets.org/news/2008/09/update-fannie-mae-and-freddie.html RU using Obamamath or English Standard? I can count too.

Republicans are not against collective bargaining. We are against collective bargaining for public employees. As was FDR, and at one time the AFL-CIO itself said it was not appropriate. Go figure.

Private companies and unions are in the same boat. They are free to float or sink, mutually. Public employees have access to tax dollars, write the very laws that fine, toll, fee for additional revenue. Would that the private sector could afford the benefits packages of public employees or pensions.

and he was specifically talking about public employees…he even thought federal employees already had collective bargaining. These are not “gee, whiz, gotcha” questions. These are questions about things that have been in the forefront of the news this year..Wisconsin, Ohio. You and I read/see the news about these things, and we can speak fairly intelligently about them, whether we agree or disagree..but he just seemed lost. Not a good sign.

Your last paragraph..thanks for adding that, but this is a discussion about Herman Cain, not unions.

No idea why you guys even care so much since you aren’t voting for him anyways. It seems like the constant posting is an attempt to get other people to not vote for him. I saw the Libya footage and he was trying to get clarification on the question. In the end he answered it.

All your posting of soundbites won’t change my mind. So post all the Krugman blogs and news soundbites you want. Most anyone will be able to do a better job than Obama. The guy is all over the place.
