JoB, thanks for posting that. All too often people don’t take the time to understand how dogs communicate. We assume that because they live in harmony with us that they communicate by our rules, and that’s often where we get into trouble by doing things like hugging dogs, patting them on the head, or pursing our lips in a kissy face to them (all of which are generally not liked by dogs or even seen as threatening).

I would recommend reading “The Other End of the Leash” by Patricia McConnell – she discusses a lot about how dogs communicate and what us humans often do wrong.

I am truly Stan the lonely guy from Auburn, WA. I do have way too much time on my hands. I am very lonely. I do not have any family in the area. I am so truly sorry for everything I did. I will promise to go away. I do need to clarify one thing, I have only been pretending to be this LatteMom, I am not the same as this Cinnamon and I have never posted on Seattle Times as someone on here reported. i enjoyed your conversation when you approached reality. and sometimes your posts generated interesting conversation. The real you might be an interesting addition to conversation.

As for what you think you proved… i don’t think so. I don’t think there is anyone on this forum naive enough to believe that it isn’t possible that many of the people posting on this site are not all they appear to be. The posts are only as honest as any of us make them.

Yet, regardless of what voice you choose to use here.. or anywhere for that matter… it is only a voice.. fed by a real person.. and that person can’t help coming through sometimes.

We would all be glad to see the lattemom persona go away.

It is so much sadder if this persona is built on a real person whose identity you lifted.

Or.. if you really are lattemom and the lonely young man is the persona. or….

it doesn’t really matter a lot.

i hope whoever you are that you find a way to participate in this forum or another in a way that is productive. messing with people just makes them angry.. and it never lasts long.

And as for the rest of us.. i think we can all survive one more impostor in our lives… real life is full of them you know.

It’s just like the pit bull thread.. if you walk the streets in fear of the marauding pitbull, you won’t get out much… same here.

LatteMom’s identity is that of a man, I have been very dishonest with you all and have been trying to prove several points, without any success.

I read many of the postings on Seattle Times and thought I’d find a local website to entertain myself but it ot out of hand.

It is far to easy to obtain information inline, personal information and that is what I have done. Now you all can see how dangerous this really is.

I’m glad that it was verified that “lattemom” is “cinnamon” and my name was not included! Please know, everyone, I have been passionate in my posts before, but I am level headed and sane. I quickly switched from feeling sorry for lattemom in the pit bull thread to realizing she was unstable.

I can’t believe she had to move her daughter to a different school! I feel sorry for the little girl. She is probably more embarrassed by her mother than anything.

Please don’t give up on the get togethers. You WILL recognize this person (it may take a few minutes) because what you see here is what you get in person. I have read this blog for quite a while and have refrained from commenting about her but this is getting a little out of hand.

The sad/funny part is that she is really trolling herself, so to speak. She is very angry and much like an injured animal any attempt to help or be friendly can be interpreted as a threat.

An interesting exchange of opposing ideas is as impossible for her as it is for chickens to knit!

RE the to address not matching.

The specifics of how an email is routed to you are always in the header. On some email readers it is either difficult or nearly impossible to easily read the original text with the header info.

On some you can look for a button or menu choice for “show all headers” or “show original” which will open up the message and convert the html to text (with codes) and usually show the header information.

Most modern email clients will strip out the original header info when forwarding a suspect email to some one else for analysis, but you could try sending me one of them to check.

Here are some links to explanations that may help you understand what you are seeing if you can get a look at the headers. Some may also have outdated info on other topics related to their local mail system or historical anti spam tactics that are now obsolete, so use them for education in a general way.

The comcast issue can probably be easily traced but most of the comcast people I have ever talked to have no idea how any mailserver works ,let alone theirs. Most will deny that their outgoing servers use “Pop before SMTP” as an anti spam strategy even though telneting to their mail servers and testing it will show it unequivocally.

I never used a comcast email address when I had their service, (even though they gave me one or more) since I have my own mail servers, but if I remember correctly that had a way to assign multiple usernames to one actual email address.

Also if you are both using the same email address with a client set to use POP mail (which downloads the mail to your computer) with out the setting on one of them to “leave mail on server” then which ever machine checks the mail first in each cycle, will download all the incoming mail up to that point. This is useful for road warriors who wish to read their incoming mail while on the road and yet preserve it so it can be downloaded to their home or office computer for archiving. It is also possible to have one computer checking mail for two addresses while another only checks one address.

It is also possible to create this situation on an IMAP server-client but it takes several wrong settings on both sides If I remember correctly.

I am still working on my server rebuild /redesign project at the moment but I will check back in here later.

JoB I agree with you. My point (not very well made) is that most people do not know understand the ‘pack mentality’ and because of that we end up with poorly trained dogs.

I wish that elementary schools would include dog safety training in their curriculums. I think it is just as crucial as fire safety. This would give children the much needed dog info and probably reduce a lot of the problems between dogs and kids.

Sadly, I think most of these incidents are unintentional and result from a lack of understanding by all the people involved and the poor dogs suffer. People like JoB sharing their knowledge with the rest of the world sure does help.

In reference to Lattemom…I have interacted with her in the past and can only say what you see in this blog is what you get. Any innocent comment can be seen as a threat. Sad really.

I saw an interesting piece on the MSM last night about memory. They asked simple questions (How old is your mom? etc.) to two groups of people…over 60 and under 30. The over 60 group did much better. They asked one of the youngsters where their memory went and they pointed to their cellphone.

i know my memory isn’t so good sometimes.. but i would swear that lattemom was talking about living on 35th and now she is overlooking alki. where will she be next?

and the taxidermy really is going a bit far.

i don’t think it’s real and if it is.. attention will only make it worse… so i plan to ignore it.

ken.. this is exactly why i question the “rhetoric”… nobody seems to know what it is actually built on.. and often it isn’t what it appears to be.

but then the old fart status we have earned carries with it a lot of experience with bull, doesn’t it:) even bull backed by statistics…

as for all that hot shot expertise… i have come to realize that expertise is often shallow. Yes, they have learned in many cases to manipulate the top layer of technology very well… but ask them what lays beneath it… the foundation.. and they are lost.

that’s what us old farts are for.. foundations:) we understand them because we helped lay them.

I think she either doesn’t care that’s she’s gone too far and is enjoying being the center of attention or…is genuinely disturbed and capable of going a little postal. IMO respect has become irrelevant and I’ve lost all desire to participate in any blog get togethers. I’m a little freaked to know I could innocently be giving information to a psycho who is now bringing up their love of hunting.
