For the last week I’ve been woken up every morning by somebody street racing from the White Center part of Delridge to North Delridge between 3:50 and 4:30am.
Abybody else suffering through this? 😆
I believe my keys fell out of my fanny pack while reading on the beach today with my pup (around 11-12.) Leather keychain, Toyota key fob, at least 8 keys (rather big set.)

West Seattle Runner is looking for a team lead/sales associate for Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays. More hours are available if requested, but those 3 days are a must.
The only requirement we have is that you are a runner. Retail experience is nice, but not necessary, we can teach you all you need to know about retail. As far as leadership goes, having previous experience is not necessary either (but appreciated), you would just need to be comfortable giving direction and making decisions independently. No team lead action will be required until you and us feel you are ready for the position. But most importantly, you would need to be flexible with the schedule occasionally. The number of hours would stay consistent, but the days worked may need to change every once in a while, mostly to cover staffing gaps.
If you love to run and talk about running, we would love to hear from you. Drop off a resume in the store and ask for Tim or Lori any Tuesday-Saturday. If you come on a Sunday or Monday you can just drop it off and we will get back to you.
Pay is negotiable based on experience.A neighbor alerted me that someone was on my boat. When I paddled out, I found a man who appeared to be in his mid-40s, with a salt-and-pepper beard, skinny with a yellow and black PFD aboard my boat. He had a very nice black Highfield inflatable that was loaded with gear suspected of having been taken from other boats.
He was inside the cabin while I was paddling out and was standing on the transom when I arrived. We had a heated verbal confrontation, and he took off in the inflatable. As we followed alongside him in Puget Sound, he wielded a knife at us.
I contacted the police and the U.S. Coast Guard. Coast Guard officers located him and followed him toward Elliott Bay Marina. Before reaching the marina entrance, he reportedly beached the inflatable on the rocks and ran into the wooded area. I was also told that he brandished a knife at the federal officers.
As of this posting, he has not been apprehended. Please be alert, check your boats, and do not approach him. Call 911 immediately if you see him or have information about his whereabouts. I do have photos as well of him.

Oh, dear, we lost the LAST remaining car key tonight! One black Ford chip key on a blue West Seattle High School lanyard with gold printing. Could have been lost in a couple places, including the Southeast corner of 45th Ave. SW and SW Edmunds St. -or- possibly on or near the east sidewalk of 36th Ave SW between SW Dakota St. and SW Genesee St. — on the way to, and near Buddha Ruksa. Societal mores and everyday respect have really taken a toll since the racist, misogynist, homophobic, rapist criminal has stolen our country.
I’m a senior woman who has been walking my dog in Seaview for the past 26 years, and I’m really tired of the uptick in daily micro-misogyny, mostly from middle-aged men. Today on a walk with my medium dog, I hear footsteps closing in behind me, turn, and a man running is right on top of me. He purposely bumps me as he passes, and gives me the finger, and yells “get out of the wayâ€. I yell back, “go around”, and he says “on the grass?â€. I’m dumbfounded.
Two other middle-aged men harass us at least once a week when we walk by their houses daily on our walks. One accused me of calling animal control and the police on him and physically blocks our way on the sidewalk (I didn’t, but clearly someone did – he’s on Rover and I caught him leaving one of his dogs in the car while he was across the street and far back into his garage). The dog was incredibly distraught, baking very loudly. Now every time I see this guy, which is often since it’s my neighborhood and he doesn’t have a real job, he has this shit eating grin on his face and belittles me around other people. And another man yelled at me because my dog scratched on the grass after having pooped (and, yes, of course I pick up the poop). First off, you don’t own the parking strip, and secondly, get a f—ing life. He’s always yelling out, “hello, hello, you there with the dog, can i talk to youâ€, while I’m just trying to walk by and ignore him. Why are you outside every day when we walk by and why are you harassing a senior citizen minding her own business?
They really don’t like it when we speak up and have agency, a voice. Rest in peace Gloria Steinem. I really feel sorry for the younger woman of today. I know a lot has changed for the better, but in some ways, a lot has gotten way worse.
I live in Highpoint. All summer long, I hear fire/smoke alarms going for hours. Today I walked around the neighborhood and couldn’t pinpoint it. Nobody else seems to notice, including, apparently, the people who live inside of or next to the offending house. But the sound comes right into my window. I have to run a fan to block the sound.
