andreaParticipantNot sure if this will work, but I’ll try and post my MySpace page here, so you know I’m real too. I’m not a regular poster here, but I am a daily reader (sometimes hourly!). Oh, yeah, this is worth repeating…Go HILLARY!http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=39348837

littlebrowndogParticipantI would love to get a chance to meet all the people here. If there is a get together, I will bring my well-behaved, non-aggressive leashed dog with me as he is my alter ego. I myself should have such good manners.
Erik, maybe my husband and/or I have seen you with your lab. He, I or both of us walk at Alki almost every day with the dogs. They are a yellow lab and a sheltie. The sheltie is the well-behaved one of the pair.

beachdrivegirlParticipantUnfortunately my dog will be staying @ home. He gets a little to excited still in big gatherings…

AimParticipantIf you click on my name you will see my blog. There’s a picture of me a few posts down in the one about how to have nice skin (or fake it)
:-)
March 5, 2008 at 7:17 pm #616617
AnonymousInactiveWow, Aim, you do have great skin!
March 5, 2008 at 7:30 pm #616618
AimParticipantaww, thanks! It hasn’t always been that great. And I used to have a couple of deep wrinkles. Been experimenting with various products and actually found a few that work well for me. Deep wrinkles in my forehead are gone!
March 5, 2008 at 7:33 pm #616619
andreaParticipantAim, I skimmed your blog, and yes, your skin is radiant! Congrats on getting engaged too! I’m getting hitched myself in May, and its a lot of work, but a lot of fun too. And I’m sorry about the shingles. I haven’t had them, but my sister and grandmother do, and I know how horrible it is.
March 5, 2008 at 7:37 pm #616620
JoBParticipantAim.. you do have amazing skin… and a great expression too… cute!
i caught the part of your blog about shingles and nerve pain.
i find valcyclovir on the day the tingling hits.. the irritating itch.. stops it in it’s tracks…
i have valtrex now and it doesn’t work as well for me.. but we are all different.
if i let it go even one day it will be month before i am done.
and strangely, lidocaine patches if you can tolerate them really do seem to slow down the nerve pain… again.. if i catch them it on the first day.
and i am looking now to see if your doc takes my insurance…
great meeting you…
and congratulations! you will look super in a red dress.

JenVMemberI feel sometimes like I am the only person without a myspace/facebook page. I also don’t tend to keep photos around of myself. but since we’re outing: WS resident full time since ’96, 34, no dogs/kids/republican stickers on my car, 1 cat, 1 BF, totally West Seattle-centric. :)
cheers!
March 5, 2008 at 8:19 pm #616622
JoBParticipantjen i feel i know you:)
March 5, 2008 at 8:27 pm #616623
AimParticipantAndrea – thanks! We’re shooting for summer. Offbeat Bride Blog has saved me from stress. I am determined to have it be fun and not so stressful. Avoiding the giant traditional wedding will help I think. (Not that there is anything wrong with one – they can be gorgeous – but I want it to be a whole lot of fun and very little stress)
Jo – you’re totally right. I need to remember to mention it to my doctor and get a standby prescription. I forget whenever I see her, and then when I have them I always seem to be too late to actually do much about them. I’ll get it together one of these days! They’re no fun at all. I get them about twice a year now. Used to be once every 2 months or so. And thanks! My very conservative family will be shocked by my dress. But they’ll get over it. They’ve gotten over everything else… ;-)

JanSParticipantAIM…congratulations, that’s wonderful that you’re getting married. I’ve been to your blog before , and get fixated on the food pictures…
I need to try some of your facial tricks….what? me wrinkle? lol…
Andrea…you’re getting married , too..I don’t see Sarah now so don’t know any of the gossip :) That’s wonderful.
While I’m here…are you going to Rick Novito’s memorial service tomorrow?
March 5, 2008 at 8:54 pm #616625
AnonymousInactiveJenV – Don’t feel like you’re the only one! I, too, have nothing to share that would reveal who I am. We should all try and make it to the next get-together!
Aim – this kinda goes along with the skin care and all that and I’m wondering what your thoughts were on it. I recently met a “raw foodist”. She had been doing it for a year and she too had great skin. It was interesting talking with her. Have you ever experimented?
March 5, 2008 at 8:59 pm #616626
FranciParticipantIt is time for another get together, as nice as its been – maybe at Lincoln Park or Alki would be good – we could have a potluck.
March 5, 2008 at 9:11 pm #616627
andreaParticipantJan, I don’t think I’m going to go to Rick’s memorial, though I did think about it. His nephew just recently got married to one of my oldest friends, so I know they will be there, but I feel its not my place to mourn him becasue I didn’t know him as they did. I don’t know. Death at any age is horrible, but its very sad in this case as it was so sudden. He was such a gifted musician. LeRoy Bell is one of my favorite bands, and it was a pleasure to hear him play with them.
March 5, 2008 at 9:11 pm #616628
AnonymousInactiveIs there anybody in this group who likes to plan and organize things? Maybe that person could take charge and just tell us all when to show up. Unfortunately, I’m not one of those people.
March 5, 2008 at 9:14 pm #616629
andreaParticipantI’m all for a get together. Though I’m not a planner, I’ll show where ever someone tells me to :)
March 5, 2008 at 9:28 pm #616630
JoBParticipantnew resident… i wasn’t being sarcastic with jenv… i feel like i already know both of you.
March 5, 2008 at 9:33 pm #616631
AnonymousInactiveJoB – I never thought you were being sarcastic. My post to JenV was in response to her saying that she felt like she was the only one who didn’t have a facebook. I don’t have one either and don’t know how to put my picture in the computer. I wanted her to know that there are other people out there that aren’t very computer literate. Sorry about the confusion!
March 5, 2008 at 9:35 pm #616632
FranciParticipantIf we want to take a chance on the weather and if we all agree on a place, like say Lincoln Park, and a date, I’ll volunteer to scope out and reserve one of the picnic shelters.
March 5, 2008 at 9:40 pm #616633
AimParticipantJanS – yep! How about at the next meetup we chat and I’ll give you my “secret” recipe? Or if I ever get around to asking for a referral to you and get an appt scheduled… sheesh.
NewResident – I’ve gone vegetarian in the past, for about 5 years actually, but had to switch b/c my partner cannot be veggie for health reasons. So I am a meat eater again. However, I stick to poultry and fish, and get in tons of veggies and fruits, as well as a lot of water. I’m a frighteningly healthy eater. My best tip: I haven’t eaten fast food in many, many years, and I drink about a gallon of water a day. Both help.
March 5, 2008 at 9:47 pm #616634
JenVMemberif I organized it, we would all meet at a bar. :)
