I’m organizing community feedback on the Stay Healthy Streets (the streets that prioritize pedestrians) that were recently opened as a part of the city’s COVID response for the nonprofit Seattle Neighborhood Greenways.

Here’s more info about the stay healthy streets: http://stayhealthystreets.org/

Do you have any suggestions, questions, or things you’d like to change about the way the streets are set up? Do you think they’re effective? Do you have photos of people (or yourself) using the streets? I would love all of these things to help form a larger picture of their impact on neighborhoods.

Thanks for your time and thoughts if you’re willing to give them!

    Best,

Hi all! I’m just in the market for any old magazines or newspapers that anyone may have lying around that they just want to get rid of! I’d be using for various art projects but don’t want to end up paying for new material just for it all to be ripped up.

If you have an excess of old mags, newspapers or even fliers & marketing material, brochures – anything like that, I’d even be willing to throw in some cash for bulk! I can meet you in WS.

    TIA!

NemosMom-I can’t recommend Nancy Iishi highly enough. Her clinic is on 15th in White Center… she has helped many members of my family including my 11 year old, myself and my mom who had suffered for years with a chronic neck injury (fractured in a car crash in the 1970’s but not discovered until the late 1980’s by her chiropractor) …. she has debilitating flare ups but Nancy can get it calmed down for longer stretches than any other provider or trmt. 206-890-0758.

This is NOT TRUE. After reading this, I contacted the media reps at King County Elections. Their reply:

If USPS has a forwarding address for someone, they will automatically forward their ballot on to them, even if the voter has not updated their address on their voter registration.

King County Elections receives data from USPS regularly with updated addresses and, after doing voter outreach, makes those changes in our system.

If USPS does not have a forwarding address for the voter, their ballot would be returned to us as undeliverable. When a ballot is returned as undeliverable, if the voter does not vote in the election another way (i.e. In-person at a Vote Center or by printing out their ballot online and mailing it that way), then their registration record would become ‘inactive’. If this happens we send a notice to the voter asking them to update their address with us and they will not automatically receive a ballot in the next election – unless we hear back from them first. It’s incredibly easy to move from ‘inactive’ to ‘active’ and prompt that automatic ballot once again, we just have to hear from the voter to confirm their address.
This is one of the reasons we try to be clear with voters about contacting us if they do not receive a ballot and they believe they should have. If a voter gives us a call before October 26, we can get a new ballot out to their new address. After October 26, they would need to come in person to update their address. Or they can go online and print their ballot from home if they would prefer to do that instead.
If voters want to contact us they can email us at elections@kingcounty.gov or call 206-296-VOTE (8683).

I always chuckle at the amount of mail to return in my building. There’s a LOT of people that can’t figure out their mail won’t magically follow them to their new address.

A heads up: if you’ve moved and put in a forwarding request with USPS but haven’t updated your address with the Elections office, you won’t get a ballot for the upcoming election. We have been told ballots won’t be forwarded. I believe they’ll be returned to the Elections office as undeliverable but not 100% sure of that.

    Hey CarDriver,

Here in Austin, TX we have had an amazing downward trajectory in new cases due to our pushing for stricter enforcement of PPE with higher fines than the state wanted to do. It “feels” like most businesses have also really taken it seriously and do not allow entrance without a mask.

Right now we are beating the curve but all it takes is one or two idiots to ignore the risks and we could have another blow-up. Just have to stay with it and keep our resolve to care for each other and ourselves.

Bridge craziness is only getting worse because the leading bet is that they won’t repair the bridge. They want to build a new one but surprise surprise they don’t actually have the money lined up. The 1st S bridge has bearing issues. The fix will close 2 southbound lanes for 2 weeks solid. Should do wonders for people comeing back to WS.The question will be how many people move. I’ve had some dark thoughts and admit to looking in other parts of town but haveing lived here all my life-dad was born here in 1917 grandpa came here in 1890 i’ll just suffer in silence, backed up in traffic. As far as politics there isn’t much need to talk as i think we’re all set on who and what we’ll mark our ballots. What’s the current view of covid in your part of the country?

That’s why i stay right on the bumper of the car in front of me. City could put in dividers at least 100 yards s of the island. That would help-at least they can’t cut in as far as they do. Real solution is for people to stop letting the cutters in.

Had a BD recently, friends got me a luxury charcoal grill.
they know I’m fond of cooking meat, so should have expected that.
Anyway, my old Weber Spirit is nothing but a dust magnet now, so I really want to give it away to someone, who’s fond of grilling like me.
The condition is great, except for the 1 wheel, which is about to drop off. But it’s fixable, nothing to worry about.
For more details about the grill, check we review: Weber Spirit II E-310

write down your e-mail or DM me if interested.
please, write down the reason for donating this one to you. I’m not giving it to the first random guy. I’d really want it to make someone happy like it did me.

    cheers
