There was a sentencing today in a federal case involving mail and ID theft. It’s on the main page. Has nothing to do with a mail carrier. Nor was it 40 counts in Highland Park. The Crime Watch report from last year that was apparently part of this case was in Highland Park. I assume the photographer was shooting the mail carrier as what we used to call B-roll … the usually generic video slapped over the reporter’s words … anyway:

Master Home Environmentalist©
MHE trains volunteers to visit homes at no cost and assist residents in assessing and managing environmental health problems. The MHE volunteer utilizes a survey form called the Home Environmental Assessment List© (HEAL©) to identify potential problems and work with the resident to develop an action plan to reduce exposure to pollutants. The personalized action plan can lead to steps such as use of efficient vacuums and quality door mats, shoe removal at the door, ventilation, integrated pest management, and allergen control.

Similar topic to the other post on ACA, but I’d like to focus on sharing links to explanatory info of ACA details. Please add yours.
I may need to take part in the exchange soon and am uncertain about it. This was a helpful short summary to me with links to get deeper info

Wake, the issue of CG’s dirty (no pun intended) compost was addressed in the linked thread below about 2 years ago. Don’t know if they actually cleaned up their act or not. Based on what I’ve seen of landscape crews (and many homeowners) there’s little chance of the cleanup happening at the originating end.

SEATTLE — Do you know someone who has chronic headaches? Stuffy noses? Sore throats? Did you know that indoor health hazards could be contributing to these ailments? You have the right to feel healthy in your own home!
The Master Home Environmentalist Volunteer Program at the American Lung Association can help improve one’s health by ameliorating indoor air problems. Our members employ a holistic approach that helps residents recognize indoor air pollution problems—such as mold or dust—and works towards finding free or low-cost ways to control the toxins in their home.
These home evaluations are great for children, the elderly, pregnant women, as well as other individuals with lung sensitivity including asthma or allergy patients. Nevertheless, these assessments can be helpful for anyone concerned about the condition of their home. Free indoor air quality assessments are available in your neighborhood all year.
Why wait until you get sick? Preventative measures are safer, cheaper, and easier than waiting until you get sick. Call today! (206) 512-3280

School of Rock. Seriously. The best music program I have ever seen.
My son was a timid 9 year old novice, but 3 years later he’s playing difficult songs with a full band on stages such as The Crocodile, Chop Suey, Neumo’s, Nectar, El Corazon, and Showbox.
Not that big venues mean a whole lot, but just to see the confidence of a group of kids totally OWNING these venues is absolutely inspiring.
They have a “Little Wings” program that starts at pre-school ages. By the time they are 8 to 10 many kids will be able to play with the shows.
The instructors are INCREDIBLE!! Really.
The only down side is that they only have schools in Greenwood and Bellevue. But they are looking to expand to West Seattle….
Here’s a recent “Rage Against the Machine” show. My son is on the drums:

There was a little bit of “language” at this show. Not all shows are this hard. You can choose what styles you like. The website below tells the story.

The last post by WF (formerly known as WSHoop, formerly known as Hooper) was posted a month ago. The topic? FAILURE OF AMERCIANS TO SAVE FOR RETIREMENT.

The Texas location thing was probably a red herring. I knew there was something fishy about this…

You might also try Pharmaca in Alaska Junction or PCC. Peppermint is also supposed to work well on deterring spiders as well, although I’ve never tried it. (I’ve heard about mixing it with water in a spray bottle.) I found this on the internet: https://westseattleblog.com/2008/08/honked-off-by-west-seattle-train-noise-new-group-wants-you
Apparently, there was a West Seattle Train Noise Action Committee in 2008 for the same issue, but it doesn’t look like it helped.

There have been various Seattle protests in the last few days, mostly coordinated on Facebook as far as I’ve seen. https://www.facebook.com/nowarinsyriaseattle , and the Cascadia Project has an anti-war coalition meeting tonight – https://www.facebook.com/events/577192125679054/?ref=22
Obama doesn’t adhere to the Constitution and has a proven record of entering us into unconstitutional, interventionist war without Congressional approval (e.g. when he bombed Libya in 2011), but he is now at least saying that he will put the Syrian war to a vote in Congress, so its worth contacting our Senators Cantwell and Murray and Rep. McDermott to voice your opinion. Its also concerning that the narrative on the chemical weapons story keeps changing.
Grazie – apologies in advance if any of them are among those you’ve tried to get to stop by, but I do have to say, we always appreciate when people choose to use WSB sponsors, or at least check them out, and we happen to have a half-dozen local contractors on the WSB sponsor team. Peruse the sidebar and/or see the WSB Sponsors directory page (which is categorized):
Thank you, WSB Sponsors!
Good luck with whatever you are trying to get done.
