    Hello,

We have an older pup who sometimes needs to stay outside and will get caught in bad weather. So we bought a tent / shade tent for her (it closes all the way up so it isn’t a shade tent, but it’s very light and roomy enough for two people.

So light that during the windstorm last night, it seems to have turned into a sail and was lifted up and out of our yard in the middle of the night. We are in the Admiral neighborhood and I’m wondering if anyone has seen it blowing around. Our pup would really appreciate having it back. Happy to pick it up. Yes – driven the neighborhood looking everywhere, wondering gif it ended up in a back yard…

    Thanks

    Keri

    Hello fellow West Seattleites!

I was wondering if anyone might have a full-sized nativity scene (or know of anywhere that might) for me and my family to use for this year’s Christmas card. Looking to do this in about a month or so.

Any leads you may have are extremely helpful!

    Best,

    Scott

Who said she reported the RV? The report says a neighbor reported it, which led to a radio show finding out about and spreading the news-which led to the vandalism, the reporter trespassing the RV and eventually a violent confrontation where a person threatened the pregnant woman with a knife, after throwing a bottle at her. Y’all love making up stuff to fill in the blanks, but when presented with actual facts you don’t believe it.

Sorry, but this doesn’t pass my sniff test. A woman who is 10 weeks pregnant buys a garbage filled RV trailer for $1 to clean it out and live in it? After you fill a trailer with garbage like that you can’t really get it clean now can you? Reports are that a U-Haul truck towed it there and left it, so somebody paid at least $200 or so to move it and had good enough credit to rent a U-Haul. But this supposedly wasn’t the trailer’s final resting spot, so there would have to be another truck rental for another couple of hundred dollars. I know we are living in desperate times but none of this behavior is logical. Congratulations to Lisa Herbold for doing the right thing by sharing her driveway in whatever manner she did but this still feels like a political stunt by the previously accused parties.

I found a little deep wine-colored boot a few days ago on Atlantic Street between 44th and 45th, a block before Sunset Ave SW. I would love to return it to it’s “mate”. Please e-mail me as I would be delighted to return it to it’s owner. I live on Sunset Ave SW. 206-457-5447

WSB doesn’t cover stories that are half-baked like this one. The RV was parked there coincidentally by homeless people that had just purchased the vehicle, intending to clean it before moving in. The RV was vandalized after word spread (falsely) that this was a stunt. Once the real story came out and Lisa met the owners of the RV, she extended her own driveway to them. Pretty telling indeed.

Okakopa, I’m sorry about your father. I miss mine too. No two families’ situations are the same when it comes to caring for our aging parents, but I think it’s safe to say that it’s rarely easy, and being judged by people who don’t know our circumstances only makes it more difficult.

Mark, I’m sorry I can’t offer to help, but I think it’s great that at 95 your dad is still able to do the things he loves!

Mark47n you are missing the point when you tell folks to find a new hobby or take valium. What we are saying is that off-leash dogs in parks which require a leash is against the law. Off-leash dogs on beaches is against the law. When people break the law – this law in particular- it bothers us and diminishes our ability to enjoy our parks. There is not much we can do to enforce the law, but you should be aware that your behavior makes people unhappy.
Do I break rules sometimes? Probably yes. If I my breaking a rule – either accidentally or on purpose – caused another person discomfort, I would want to be aware of it so that I could consider changing my behavior.

@Okakopa-How can it be voyeurism, these are pictures of sunset at the public beach and some irresponsible dog owners just ruin the view….

Anyway, great job GxNX, public shaming is the best punishment.

Interesting update from Texas re: fireworks. Here in Austin, they are illegal and it seems that pretty much, that is actually respected! I’m sure the city/state-wide constant concern of fire hazards has a lot to do with it, but I’ve also noticed a lot more active and retired military which may also play a part in it. Also, no pro sports team(s) seems to help with the civility all around. ;) I haven’t gone down the rabbit hole to truly investigate but on the 4th in North Austin (near The Domain for anyone who’s familiar with the area) all I heard were a couple kids in a nearby apartment complex shoot off maybe 4 “baby” bottle rockets. That was it. Driving back from downtown earlier in the evening, there weren’t any mortars popping off in the sky, I didn’t hear any firecrackers going off, it was like any other evening.

I’m curious to see, or I guess “hear”, what it’ll be like on NYE but seems like it’s just not an issue. I expected it to be a lot more like Alaska where neighbors would be competing with each other. I was happily wrong about that. lol
