    Friends! To meet extraordinary demand at Rebellyous Foods, we are looking for great, mission-dedicated people to come help out on a short-term basis. The world is truly ready to replace chicken on a large scale, and we are heeding the call to keep up with the demand! We need your help and we’d love to have you join us.

    Here’s the deal: We need thoughtful and passionate folks to work a 1/2 day (4 hours) or full day shift (whichever you’d like) over the next few weeks, temporarily. It could be one-day or 5 days a week — your choice, we’d just love to see your smiling faces on the production floor!

    Here’s what you’d be doing: Helping our production team with tasks! You will be measuring ingredients, scooping dough (it’s not heavy), putting product in packages with the team, helping out with dishes, making boxes, and generally helping out on the floor with like-minded friends!

    Here’s what to expect: Shifts are between 8 AM to 6 PM, and times are flexible around your schedule. We ask you to get a Washington State Food Worker Card and you’d be trained on basic food safety and facility safety when you arrive at HQ. You’d be paid as an employee of Rebellyous. You can schedule only the shifts that work for you — so lots of flexibility. You will be wearing production-grade clean or new boots, smocks, and hairnets provided by Rebellyous.

    Here’s what we need from you: We need your time for 1/2 or full day shifts for a couple times over the next few weeks. You need to be able to stand or walk around for the full 4 hours or 8 hours with rest breaks and lunch breaks. Granola bars and fruit provided for breaks. You will need to be able to do some light lifting and bending, but we can accommodate nearly any mobility limitation if you tell us ahead of time, so don’t let that stop you. You also need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and be able to provide proof for our records. We ask that you commit to just a few or more shifts in the next few weeks.

    We would personally love to have you come work with us. It’s going to be tons of fun, and you get to see the plant-based meat industry in action first hand changing the meat industry.

    I got my J&J booster at Neighborhood House. They’re open Saturdays and an appointment can be made here:

    There’s also one in Southlake Union.

    Stick with the J&J and get the one booster for now. Sure, we can “mix them”, but I rather not have to have a third appointment and can pretty much count on the aftercare.

    I had covid last fall, now have long covid issues. The Because it started out as pink eye, an adenovirus, I wanted to use the JnJ because they used snippets of the adenovirus to build the structure of the vaccine. I knew the side effects would be a lot like covid for a few days, so felt more prepared for that first shot.

    This time I had the quad flushot the week before my JnJ booster. I had horrible chills and a 102.1 fever for one night. That’s it!

    So, just trust your gut and go with what you know right now.

    Best of luck! Oh, and they took a lot of walkins the first weekend, too, so I am sure you’re gonna get right in either way :)

    In general, I rarely hear about cheating on amazon because I have a lot of orders from there. So, not to run into any problems, like fraud or that my goods to me just do not come. I always try to read more about the seller and the genuine reviews, which real customers left. The last item I ordered from Amazon was the solar flag pole lights. And before I called it, I absolutely checked all the details and features. Only after that did I order it. Now I am thrilled that my house is different from all others with this flag. Especially at night, it looks unreal.

    The difference is that wseakell wasn’t just talking about residents 12 and older, and you are. If you look at West Seattle’s entire population the percent vaccinated is in fact lower than 80.

    wseakell was clearly talking about West Seattle as a whole, not just those 12 and over:

    I was just trying to clarify that, as stated, the 80% figure is not true. And while I don’t really have a problem with people regularly glossing over the difference between everyone and only those 12+, that difference does seem worth remembering–particularly when the conversation is focused on children. Again, not a big deal but certainly worth keeping in mind!

    Cheese, I know you’re joking about hiring criminals as security. Let’s say you were considering taking a job where it’s your responsibility to discourage theft. The policies you work under don’t allow you to take any action to prevent theft, just observe and report. You will earn $15/hour to stand around in an ill fitting uniform. About half of that is taken in taxes. On the other hand, if you remain a criminal, you can spend 10 minutes stealing a $100 item and fence it for $10 or trade for drugs. There’s almost no chance you’ll get caught. If caught, you won’t be arrested. If arrested, you won’t be charged, tried, convicted, sentenced, etc. This is all assuming that you have moral reservations about theft as a profession.

    wseakell, it is not true that, as you wrote, “…80% of West Seattle is vaccinated…”

    As for the rest of this nonsense, I must say that I also noticed what Anonyme reports: in my frequent walks around West Seattle I see kids happily masking when they don’t need to. This leads me to believe that many of them really don’t mind masking up at all.

    You might find it unnecessary, but so what? If they don’t mind, and if it’s not hurting you, what do you care?

    Some people might find shoes unnecessary–heck, they might argue shoes actually damage our posture, unnaturally constrict our feet, and mention that for thousands and thousands of years people went barefoot. They might argue that there is no reason for people to wear hot, stuffy shoes, that it’s overkill and it would be much healthier to take them off!

    People wear things, and do things, for all sorts of reasons. They’re not hurting you, except for maybe your feelings, and they’re not hurting themselves–so let them be.

    I’m a West Seattle resident and co-creator of MindMonsters — a fun, adventure card game for people living with anxiety and stress — now on Kickstarter.

    The pandemic has inspired people in many ways. For myself and my daughter, it was to create an anxiety and stress related card game. On an epic journey, players learn to Think Like a Hero — to focus their power to see a situation for what it is, consider options, and make the best of it.

    POSITION DESCRIPTION
    We are looking for an energetic individual who has 1-3 years of experience in construction project management, purchasing, preparing submittals, and compiling operations and maintenance documentation. Our ideal candidate will:
    § Prepare and maintain project files.
    § Assist in preparation of estimates and budgets. Identify budget increases and maintain budget variance logs.
    § Update existing proposal and resume documents. Edit and modify other corporate documents as requested.
    § Prepare take-offs using project plans and/or blueprints.
    § Prepare and edit correspondence to general contractors, customers, vendors, and other business contacts.
    § Assist clients, as requested.
    § Provide assistance to the general office staff as requested.
    § Perform other duties as necessary.
    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
    We are looking for someone who possesses:
    § The ability to communicate well and work as part of a team, including fellow employees, suppliers, and manufacturers,
    § Goal setting, time-management, and organizational skills required for a fast-paced design-build firm,
    § A high level of self-motivation, a proactive approach and the willingness to take on new challenges,
    § Able to multi-task and juggle more than one task at a time in a timely manner,
    § Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
