I just discovered that my 14 year old has been buying vape pens from an unnamed male senior at WSHS. Apparently they contact the dealer through Instagram and then meet outside the Girls bathroom at Hiawatha play field.

So if you have teens who are hanging out at Hiawatha who are burning though cash, I suggest you check their stuff for vape pens. And if you have a Senior who comes back from Hiawatha flush with cash – please beg them to stop.

I was super excited to see 3 coho salmon spawning in Longfellow Creek This morning at 8:50 AM just under the dragonfly pavilion bridge. What a gift it is to have them still coming to the Creek to spawn after all that has happened to their habitat. just thought locals should know that they’re still here and seem healthy! Great news For the Beautiful Creatures and for us to be able to witness such a cool spectacle. thank you to all the volunteers who have helped clean up the area in respect for the natural wildlife that lives here.

I’m a retired female looking for a cleaner for a one-bedroom apartment (2 cats). It’s very straightforward cleaning. You need to have references. I’m on several bus lines right in the Alaska Junction. My regular cleaner is on disability. All of my cleaning equipment works and I am well-stocked with standard supplies. Usually it takes 2.5 hours to clean, 3 at most. I have been background checked and observe COVID protocols, also, I’m vaccinated and will be boostered in early December. I can pay $20 per hour, students are fine. Please email me at goodatwriting@gmail.com.

Thank you mom2boys! I have been keeping my eyes peeled in my fanny pack (what I was wearing that day) and car in case it flung off my hand in those locations. I had also just finished a 3 mile walk at Lincoln Park and am not 100% sure it fell off at Thriftway (maybe 80% sure :) so it really could be anywhere. No luck yet. We have it at the jewelers for a new diamond as thankfully it is covered by insurance, but I really loved that one! We will see, maybe one day it’ll come back around. (Fingers crossed!)

We used Katrina Brede at Brace Point Law to draw up our documents this year and she was super nice, quick, and responsive. FWIW we went through my prepaid legal through work so it was free, but I remember her rate being reasonable. She’s local but we did all calls via Zoom because it was in the midst of the pandemic.

Waitress at my favorite restaurant(not in WS)said the #1 reason restaurant workers won’t ask is that they’re afraid of the verbal and/or physical abuse they will get from irate customers. They simply don’t make enough money to want to deal with it and they have no confidence that other customers will come to their defense. Also have to ask: how many people ask to see the vax card proof of all the workers in a restaurant.

Thought I’d give an update on this subject “for us”
My Husband created an account with the Wa State Employment Security Department and requested to not participate in the Cares Fund and they granted it but also informed him he would never be able to participate or use these funds in his lifetime…but was he really ever going to be able to use the funds if he hadn’t opt’d out since he only plans on working another 5 years—NO. If he had not asked for non-participation the State would still gladly take his money thru payroll deductions for the 5 years and he still couldn’t use them because you must pay into this fund for a certain amount of time. He took the letter to work, now lets see if his HR/Payroll gets it…not a company with an on-site easy access dept.!
Good luck to the rest of you short-timers at work.

I got 4 phone calls today! I am one of those that does not order from Amazon so I knew it wasn’t real but frustrating they called from 4 different numbers in a row. I was waiting for a plumber to call so I needed to keep my phone.

I get those emails regularly from PayPal to my email not set up with PayPal and I usually use venmo now so those too are obliviously not real. All frustratingly wasting time.

Friends! To meet extraordinary demand at Rebellyous Foods, we are looking for great, mission-dedicated people to come help out on a short-term basis. The world is truly ready to replace chicken on a large scale, and we are heeding the call to keep up with the demand! We need your help and we’d love to have you join us.

Here’s the deal: We need thoughtful and passionate folks to work a 1/2 day (4 hours) or full day shift (whichever you’d like) over the next few weeks, temporarily. It could be one-day or 5 days a week — your choice, we’d just love to see your smiling faces on the production floor!

Here’s what you’d be doing: Helping our production team with tasks! You will be measuring ingredients, scooping dough (it’s not heavy), putting product in packages with the team, helping out with dishes, making boxes, and generally helping out on the floor with like-minded friends!

Here’s what to expect: Shifts are between 8 AM to 6 PM, and times are flexible around your schedule. We ask you to get a Washington State Food Worker Card and you’d be trained on basic food safety and facility safety when you arrive at HQ. You’d be paid as an employee of Rebellyous. You can schedule only the shifts that work for you — so lots of flexibility. You will be wearing production-grade clean or new boots, smocks, and hairnets provided by Rebellyous.

Here’s what we need from you: We need your time for 1/2 or full day shifts for a couple times over the next few weeks. You need to be able to stand or walk around for the full 4 hours or 8 hours with rest breaks and lunch breaks. Granola bars and fruit provided for breaks. You will need to be able to do some light lifting and bending, but we can accommodate nearly any mobility limitation if you tell us ahead of time, so don’t let that stop you. You also need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and be able to provide proof for our records. We ask that you commit to just a few or more shifts in the next few weeks.

We would personally love to have you come work with us. It’s going to be tons of fun, and you get to see the plant-based meat industry in action first hand changing the meat industry.

Will you join us for some short, manageable shifts to help out the cause? We look forward to hearing from you! Email us at apply@rebellyous.com.

If you’re looking for FT opportunity, please apply on our website: https://rebellyous-foods.rippling-ats.com/job/316281/food-manufacturing-technician-pt-ft-available

I got my J&J booster at Neighborhood House. They’re open Saturdays and an appointment can be made here:

    https://www.seattle.gov/mayor/covid-19/vaccinations

There’s also one in Southlake Union.

Stick with the J&J and get the one booster for now. Sure, we can “mix them”, but I rather not have to have a third appointment and can pretty much count on the aftercare.

I had covid last fall, now have long covid issues. The Because it started out as pink eye, an adenovirus, I wanted to use the JnJ because they used snippets of the adenovirus to build the structure of the vaccine. I knew the side effects would be a lot like covid for a few days, so felt more prepared for that first shot.

This time I had the quad flushot the week before my JnJ booster. I had horrible chills and a 102.1 fever for one night. That’s it!

So, just trust your gut and go with what you know right now.

Best of luck! Oh, and they took a lot of walkins the first weekend, too, so I am sure you’re gonna get right in either way :)
