I commute from WS to Kirkland right now and it isn’t too bad. I do leave early so am on the freeway around 6am and fly across the bridge and I90. I take 520 home because it is typically faster than I90 and I don’t mind paying the toll once a day. If you are going to be leaving Kirkland at 2pm you will have no problems at all and can probably take either bridge.
If I leave before 4pm it is a breeze, if I leave before 5pm it still isn’t too bad (maybe 30-40 mins) but leave after 5pm and it can take an 45 mins to an hour.
It is all relative because I used to commute from Kent to Kirkland and it would take me 2-3 hours a day so even if it takes me 40 mins on a bad day to get home I still don’t think its too bad.
It is a beautiful drive early in the morning and for a 30% pay increase I think it would be worth it!
So, coming home at 2pm will be a piece of cake; going in at 7am may be a little congested so may be worth going in a little earlier if possible.
