Please join author and musician Gerald Elias for a Special Free Book and Music Event and light refreshments at C&P Coffee at 5612 California Ave. SW on Friday, March 4, from 7-9 pm.

Elias will present his 7th and newest Daniel Jacobus murder mystery, CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MURDER.
For those of you unfamiliar with the series, the stories take place in the dark corners of the classical music world. Jacobus, a curmudgeonly, reclusive, blind violin teacher, has an uncanny knack for getting in and (ultimately) out of trouble.

CLOUDY is set at a chamber music festival on an island in the middle of the Great Salt Lake. When a freak summer storm severs the lake from the mainland (a la Agatha Christie) Jacobus and his protégée, violinist Yumi Shinagawa, are trapped on the island with a homicidal maniac.

The presentation will not only include a lively discussion of the book. Elias, a former violinist with the Boston Symphony, will also perform selections from Vivaldi’s violin concerto “Spring” from The Four Seasons that inspired his ideas for the story.

The evening will conclude with a lively Q&A and Elias will be signing copies of CLOUDY and his other mysteries as well, all graciously provided by our wonderful West Seattle local indie Paper Boat Booksellers.

“What gives this mystery its verve is the vibrant cast of characters and Jacobus’s indomitable personality and wry wit. Not just music lovers will enjoy spending time in his erudite company.” Publishers Weekly

All necessary health protocols will be followed at this special in-person event. For additional information, please contact eliaspattn@gmail.com
