Escape into the whimsical world of “Picture a Garden” at our reading and book signing event with author Linda Hornberg. Linda will bring her story to life amidst the lush nursery greenery, followed by a book signing session so you can get your own signed copy! Live readings of Linda’s book will commence at 1:00pm, 1:30pm, and 2:00pm. Bring your kids along for a fun adventure!

More about Linda Hornberg:
For over 20 years, Linda Hornberg worked at West Seattle Nursery as a horticulturalist, cashier, and creator of clever, hand-drawn newsletters for the Growing Gardener’s Club. Since retiring from the nursery, she’s written and illustrated a book called “Picture a Garden,” a book for children of all ages. We are looking forward to welcoming her back to sign copies of her masterpiece on August 9th!

Join us for a new monthly event at the bookstore! Book Swap will take place every third Thursday of the month and we are pairing this event with $10 wine pours from Darby Winery.

This month’s theme is: New Energy or Luck & Fortune

Here are the guidelines:

Books do not have to be new! Please bring a gently used book in good enough condition to swap with other book lovers.

Book Swap is an evolving event and we hope it grows bigger and bigger every month. The structure might change from month to month but the basics will stay-swap gently used books and you don’t have to talk if you don’t want to. Just show up with your book!

The goal of Book Swap is to meet other book lovers, discover new books, chat about books (if you want to!), enjoy a glass of wine and have fun!

Stop by anytime between 5:30-7!

West Seattle Urbanism Book Club

WSU is a social group of community members who live, work, or otherwise regularly spend time in West Seattle.

Details: West Seattle Book Club meets the first Thursday of each month at various coffee shops, bars, and wine tasting rooms in West Seattle and White Center. The agenda: bring your own book, read for an hour, and chat (if you want) with fellow book lovers. Bring a book and a friend for a cozy evening out.
