The painfully slow wait to crawl across the bridge and get on NB 99 would be improved if they added right turning traffic to the NB 99 bus lane (like it is in the rest of the City).

This was the configuration before SDOT  “improved” it by restriping. However, there seems to be no appetite from our leaders Lisa Herbold, Joe McDermott to even look at some data or hold the decision makers accountable to show that this half mile bus lane is actually helping.

Why don’t people obey the multiple signs that say “Bus Only” on SW Avalon in the morning? It is only a right turn lane immediately before the bridge. Just above it? Don’t think it applies to them in their single-occupancy vehicles?

Sure would be nice to get some enforcement here.  Sitting on a full bus behind a lane that’s 100% full of cars.

Avalon bus lane is crawling, verging on standstill

Wow is traffic a mess today. WOW!

Multiple displays of bad driving (driving in the Delridge bus lane, running red lights, laying on the horn like its going to get them anywhere) viewed from behind my handlebars as I seamlessly commuted downtown, arriving on time per the usual.

I want to know why most of them Ride in the Bus Lane all the way on the WS Bridge?  They are single cars and some even move over into that lane when the others are at a standstill.  I see it everyday.  Bring back the cop who used to sit at the bottom of the bridge and pull them over.  Get these idiots off the road please.

It warms my heart when I see Officer Shades pulling someone over.

Not sure if this is the norm or if traffic was extra bad today. Normally I catch my 21 bus around 9am to avoid the worst time for traffic but I wanted to get to my office earlier so I left 30 minutes earlier. Traffic was so bad, that I was on the same connection I normally take. Essentially, I spent an extra 30 minutes sitting in traffic.

Today was especially bad although this is not unusual for a day when it rains. It took the 8:08 116 Express 55 minutes from Morgan Junction to Pioneer Square, not even to the heart of downtown. Thank goodness for sympathetic management at work. I don’t know what I would do otherwise.  Unreliability of commuting for the past year since 99 came down, has been astounding.

Is there something going on on 35th? The 21 northbound is running over 20 minutes late and the buses after are delayed now too?

    • WSB February 6, 2020 (11:02 am)

Only thing I’ve heard of is the 35th/Barton signal in flash mode…

      • CAM February 6, 2020 (11:06 am)

Ok. Thanks. According to the app three of them will arrive at the same time now. I guess each of us waiting can have our own private chariot!

Sorry, comment time is over.
