dufusMemberI’m looking to hire someone simply to drop by my Mom’s and say “hi”, bring her a newspaper, etc…just a friendly “how ya doing” type drop in visit — lasting less than 30 minutes. Any services available that do this type of work? Also have a friend in a nursing home who could use a visit now and then and bring flowers or such and for an extra pair of eyes and ears to report back to family.

luckymom30ParticipantYou must be out of town I would assume? Is your mom and friend in West Seattle?

pattileaParticipantOMG I will visit your Mother, I lost both my parents, on the same day 5 years apart. I miss, miss, miss them dearly. They were gone way to early, I have a 5 year old son, that does not know grandparents, and think often of trying to adopt some. I am always curious if there are grandparent that might want a grandchild. hmm maybe another post!?

Jan RoseMemberIf you are looking to hire someone, I have a friend who does this type of visit with my Mom. She is a retired Social worker. She visits with mom, runs her through her exercises, takes her blood pressure, and a few other small jobs. She stays about 1/2 hr. every day She has been doing this for us for almost 2 years. She also visits a person at the Nursing home and ensures that she gets to activities, etc. She is great! Call me if you are interested in getting her phone number. 206-935-9511.

RGParticipantI can help you with your mom. I was a volunteer at the VA and loved hanging out with the residents there. When my schedule changed, sadly, I had to quit. Do you have an email address?
