Are we supposed to take these people seriously? Aren’t you local Occupiers embarrassed by this type of behavior that is reported every day?

dbseaMemberI don’t imagine anyone is proud of such behaviour or would want to be associated with it. Of course this hardly represents all involved or in support of this movement and its many goals.
Just like any other group, always some bad apples. Lots of dirty deeds going on out there involving suits and ties instead of buckets of shi*.

JVMemberDbsea, I’m sure it doesn’t represent all involved, but the disturbing part is that this is not a “rare” occurrence. There are hundreds of stories like this one.
Part of my frustration is when the 99 percent-ers claim to speak for the rest of us. It’s insulting.
It’s also shameful to pretend that a few old ladies in front of Chase bank in West Seattle is harmless fun, and not recognize that they are all part of the same poo-slinging group.

dbseaMemberDefinitely lots of undesirables involved with various occupy “chapters.” And yes, they should have to clean up after themselves, hopefully like everybody else. But I still won’t disregard the entire movement because of them. Too bad there are so many people who get involved in things for the wrong reasons and hurt the cause for those who are or think they’re doing the right thing.
Just don’t flush everyone involved because of the turds. And how is it shameful for old ladies to protest Chase? Unless of course they’re slinging poo at the windows. Nasty old ladies.

JVMemberProtesting isn’t shameful. Being part of a group that commits disgusting crimes and destroys property is shameful.
Maybe little old ladies should stop identifying with poo-flingers, because their silence on the topic means they don’t have a problem with it.
Even if they aren’t throwing anything, they are quietly saying, “those S.O.B.’s get what they deserve” as the other Occupier franchises are spilling feces in a Chase Bank lobby.

That’s why it’s sad to see good people caught up with the scumbags.
Did you read all of the posts above from local occupiers who have spoken out against the Occupiers’ actions?
Not one. And if they do, it will be followed with a justification.
It’s sad.

Are you doing something constructive in your own neighborhood? If so, I’d love to hear all about it. But why spend your time complaining about people throwing poo in . . . New York?

ensignmarvinMemberI believe I am one of those “old ladies” in front of Chase Bank last week. Did you not see the little girls there as well? Read their signs? See all the smiles on everyone’s faces, occupiers and police alike?
As DBP said “Are you doing something constructive in your own neighborhood?” With the small and start up Occupy West Seattle group, part of what seems to be happening is that wonderful awareness and with it the many conversations going in every which direction.

JVMemberensign, I’m sure you mean well, but there is a bigger picture to be seen.
Let’s imagine there is an upstart group of young men who protect people in their neighborhoods from drug dealers. They call themselves the Crips. People all around the country think that protecting their neighborhood is a good thing so they start their own groups of Crips. Our local affiliation is a pretty good group of well-meaning people.
Then we start seeing reports of Crips all over going too far, creating violence and committing crimes. But we ignore it, blame the media, or even worse justify it, because after all they are part of or gang.
This is where we are right now. Before we start justifying bad behavior, or getting more involved and committing crimes ourselves, maybe it would be wise to disassociate ourselves from the Crips. We are a year into it now and we have seen what they are really all about…and it’s not good. It was kinda exciting last year, but now this group has evolved into a group of criminals who don’t care about the damage they cause, the people they hurt, or the janitors who have to clean up after them.
But at the very least, you should change your name to distinguish yourselves from the criminal elements who share your name, but not necessarily your cause.
Or if you still think those people are swell, and you still want to be one of them that’s fine, just don’t bring that type of trash to West Seattle.

(ha ha ha ha!) ‘Fox will did a whole hour on why energy prices are rising..including, futures straddles, the effects of, the history of why speculators can “own” a full 1/3 of oils futures etc… things that the left would love to learn about. The I go to MSNBC.. they are chortling about etch a sketch and Romney’s dog… in depth reporting. I would chant outside the White House … liar, liar, pants on fire!! NOW…. as the Supreme Court gets to work, .. and Hussein gets caught looking just foolish trying to cover for Keystone and $4.15 gasoline… he wants to be cap and tradin’, oil well drilllin’ Hussein all at the same time.
