anonymeParticipantWhen I went out this morning about 8:30 am there was a chemical odor and ‘cloud’ hanging over Arbor Heights. It was so bad that I immediately started to cough and feel pressure in my chest. Then when I got to the corner of SW 102nd & 40th Ave SW there was an even worse odor: the smell of “burning tires” which I’ve been told is indicative of a meth lab. Quickly walked south and the odor dissipated. Anyone else noticing some seriously compromised air quality around here?

miwsParticipantHi anonyme, bad air quality has been a recurring topic here on WSB, and the usual “suspect” is the Lafarge Cement Plant.
Whether that’s the case here or not, we of course don’t know.
Here is a relatively recent article from the Main Page, and has links to Puget Sound Clean Air Agency, where you can report the odor.
If it is from the Lafarge, that’s not good, obviously. But, I hope for your neighborhood’s sake, it’s that rather than a meth lab.
Hope this helps.

MargLMemberWell – I knew that location sounded familiar…

Could be they’re up to something weird again… Might wanna mention it to SPD just in case.

luckymom30ParticipantI too smelled a strange odor in the air on my walk today in the Arbor Heights neighborhood around 11:00 and it was just at that location. Hmmmm.

anonymeParticipantIt is exactly the same corner where a grow operation was busted last year. The house has since been sold and renovated, but it still seems suspicious. I think I’ll give both SPD and Puget Sound Clean Air a call.
