The nonstop 24/7 lawn mowing, leaf blowing, chain sawing is REALLY starting to agitate.

Can we just have a break, Even if your completely oblivious to the effects of noise pollution, it’s still doing its insidious damage. Before you all jump on me like a pack of rabid dogs, I DID read every other post listed in search about the subject of noise pollution in West Seattle. There was no specific post relating to general noise pollution and every single one of them devolved into trollisms.

I’m a logical and practical person, I understand that not much can be done about the noise of the city so don’t treat me like I’m an idiot.

All I am saying is I advocate noise pollution reduction. Be aware. If you mow for 6 hours straight until 9 PM someone might throw a bucket of rocks on your lawn, whoever invented leaf blowers should be prosecuted, and if you clear cut mature urban trees for some vanity issue it affects everyone in the surrounding area with the number one result being an increase in noise pollution.

sophistatiki, I am with you 100%. Noise levels and duration are out of control, and the damage to human health is well documented.

One approach would be to require that mowers, blowers and line trimmers meet much stricter noise requirements than they do now. Most are well beyond legal limits. Second, cut back the hours during which such machinery could be used. The current 15 hour per day limit is excessive.

Totally agree. There are noise ordinances but people don’t realize there are or take advantage of the fact that police likely wont respond since there more pressing issues. I am glad I am not alone in my feelings about noise pollution from idling delivery trucks (why not turn off your engine?), leaf blowers at night, etc.

Is this one individual that is mowing and blowing for 6 hours and more or several people? I didn’t realize there were any lawns in WS that could take that long to mow. Just a couple at least.
