    Located in the Arbor Heights neighborhood of West Seattle, Westside serves ~400 students in preschool through eighth grade. 34% of our student body are Black, Indigenous and People of Color. Westside’s Early Learning division serves 60 students in preschool and pre-K. Our Lower School serves 200 students in Kindergarten-4th grade, and is organized into K-1-2 and 3-4 grade level teams who collaborate to both implement and design meaningful curriculum. Westside’s Middle School serves 150 students in 5th-8th grade, and is organized into 5/6 and 7/8 grade level teams, who collaborate to both implement and design meaningful curriculum.

    Westside School is seeking an experienced and compassionate driver to support the transportation of our students on weekday mornings for the 2022-2023 school year. We have an opening for a Part-Time Bus Driver to drive a 15 passenger bus. Qualified candidates enjoy working with children, have a clean driving record, and must be available between 7:00 AM and 8:30 AM.

    Reports to: Director of Finance and Operations

    Responsibilities:

    Transport up to 14 children to school in the mornings
    Maintain a clean and mechanically-sound bus at all times
    Obey all traffic laws
    Perform simple inspections of the bus before and after each route
    Ensure safety of all students
    Maintain a safe and healthy environment for students
    Assist students with getting on and off the bus when required

    Qualifications:

    High school diploma or GED or higher
    Driver’s License required
    1+ years’ experience driving a school bus preferred (training provided for the right candidate)
    No at-fault traffic accidents in the last 5 years
    Clean driving record (no traffic citations in the last 5 years)
    Ability to carry out assigned route on time
    Experience working with children preferred
