Bill Lee of Lee’s Asian restaurant is the new owner of Judy Fu’s Snappy Dragon, a long-time Roosevelt neighborhood favorite at 8917 Roosevelt Wy NE. For now, it’s only take-out and delivery, though it looks like when they open up to seated dining there will be a bit more room than there was at Lee’s. And it’s still the Snappy Dragon menu (it’s only the first week), but Bill may introduce some of the Lee’s favorites in time.
I miss Lee’s so much! If Lee’s management has indeed taken over Snappy Dragon, that dashes my hopes of them returning to West Seattle. Judy Fu’s is fantastic – homemade noodles, MaPo tofu, etc. – but it’s out of range for me. Glad for Lee, but sorry for me and all the other Lee’s lovers. Lunch at Lee’s used to bring me to the Junction at least once or twice a week, but there’s no place I enjoy going anymore.
I think Bill hopes to do well enough at the Roosevelt location to eventually be able to think about opening another place in WS. I have heard that he couldn’t find suitable space near the Junction.
This is TOO COOL. Lee’s was my favorite restaurant when I lived in West Seattle. I moved to North Seattle about a mile from the Snappy Dragon. There is a God!!!
Has anybody heard if the Kamei is going to resurrect?
What an incredible thing if they took over Yen Wor Village! That would be so cool but seems unlikely since they probably have their hands full at the moment.
