“Sorry smitty, not everyone hates America like you and your right wing extremist “friends”.”

“You certianly make a lot of assumptions. I do pity you though for thinking the world you live in is so black-and-white.”

    Pot, meet kettle.

“Ya Spodie I clicked on one of the links in your website, Todd Shelton jeans. $156 for a pair of jeans?” So NOT $300. Gotcha. Do you think the price tag is a direct result of manufacturing cost and has nothing to do with being trendy? There will always be a market for items that rich people buy because simply because they cost more. I notice that you have nothing to say about the dozens of other reasonably priced products. Being able to make things cheaper because you exploit a servant underclass is not “a good thing”. I suppose that’s because I’ve read The Jungle.

But it is the way of the world. Sam Walton is spinning in his grave.

So because you’re an America hating bigot, you think everyone else is too. Hate to burst your bubble smitty but you live in a fantasy world.

“Pro-union, pro-democrat(ic), anti-wal~mart (but pro costco) liberals typically own sweatshop manufactured iphones”

While your jab was funny, setting an unreasonable standard that I can’t own a cellphone if I support unions is disingenuous. I would gladly pay more for my phone if it were made by union labor in America by people making a living wage. That option simply does not exist. I don’t own stock in companies that aren’t union, because that’s something I actually have a choice in.

No, Smythe….I completely understand that 47% of the country does not live in my fantasy world.

When do your parents get home and kick you off the computer anyway?!

Smythe, where do you get off calling other people bigots? This from the person who claims that people of faith should be put in “work camps” and calls Mormons “domestic terrorists”?

Take a look in the mirror, dude.

    Quothe Smythe:

Of course people with religious affiliation of any kind should be put in work camps and not positions of leadership, but that is a topic for another thread.

The mormon “church” (aka fringe cult) should have its tax exempt status revoked. Pumping millions of dollars into a hate campaign to limit the rights of Americans should be considered nothing less than domestic terrorism.

What? Thought nobody would remember something like that? Naw, dude. This is the Internet. Better measure your words a little more carefully in the future. And while you’re at it, try looking this one up:

    33 is absolutely 50% bigger than 22.

    that’s what i said. it’s not a 50% difference, though, is it?

just saying that words have meaning.

but is that all you have to say in response to my posts? dude, you hurt my feelings.

    OK… I’ll say it.

Direct quote from Smitty… “(just wait until Ryan waxes Biden)”

Not this time. Biden wiped the floor with your kid. Question: Do you want this kid in line for President of the United States?

I say “kid” because that’s the impression I came away with last night.

    Huh?

My honest opinion is that it was a draw on facts, but if you count mannerisms it was a blowout from a PR standpoint. I think his 82 interruptions and constant smiling with his fake teeth might have turned off a few independent women. Maybe not.

I think Biden jacked up his base, and Ryan solidified his base. You and I don’t matter though – it’s the undecided voter – of whom a CNN poll said Ryan won (but certainly did not “wax” – I will give you that!

Oh, and you are the first person I heard say Ryan could not step in to be President based on the debate. Even Rachel Maddow said he at minimum proved that much (policies notwithstanding).

In the CBS undecided voter poll Biden won 50-41.Dueling polls.

I thought his mannerisms were appropriate to laugh off a guy who lies thru his teeth.Did you catch Joe asking him about his stimulus money requests directly after Ryan dissed the stimulus? Did you notice neither Biden nor Raddatz could get him to give even one specific about his “tax plan”? Ryan’s lack of knowledge on Iran and Afghanistan was pathetic. Can you honestly say Paul Ryan is qualified to be President of the United States?

By that I mean not “anybody would be better than Obama” or ” he’s more qualified than Obama was when he ran”, I mean, can you honestly say he’s qualified to be President? (I’ll disagree with RMaddow on that)

One other thing. If he did interrupt 82 times (I doubt that) he apparently needed to do that to get approximately equal speaking time. And it must mean that Ryan lied at least 82 times.

“Did you catch Joe asking him about his stimulus money requests directly after Ryan dissed the stimulus? “

Yes. Point Biden, even though I never understood that argument. If the stimulus passed – even if you voted against it – why on earth would you not try to grab some for your district? The money is spent, might as well get some. It’s akin to disliking the capital gains tax rate but still only paying that percentage. I don’t fault Obama for taking that rate even though he doesn’t like the rate…..

It’s like when George W Bush sent out all those tax rebate checks. I was so disgusted, I almost sent mine back.

So you’re fine with unprincipled politicians? That believe in taking whatever they can get whether they voted for it or not? Some folks would call that hypocrisy.

If that were just the case, I’d probably let Ryan pass on requesting stimulus funds, too. I agree with you, Smitty. But here’s Ryan’s problem:

He’s not honest: First, “Paul Ryan says his office mishandled constituent requests for stimulus funding, which is why he claimed to have never requested stimulus funds even as the documents told a different story.”

And then… “Ryan has said he didn’t request stimulus money for a while. During a 2010 interview with a Boston radio station, he offered a similarly firm statement, according to a Globe report today.

‘No, I’m not gonna vote [against] something, then write letters to the government to send us money,’ Ryan said at the time. ‘I did not request any stimulus money.’ ”

But wait, there’s more… “The Wall Street Journal in 2010 reported that Ryan had also sought funds from the Department of Labor on behalf of a local group and asked his office to square that with his anti-stimulus rhetoric.

‘If Congressman Ryan is asked to help a Wisconsin entity applying for existing federal grant funds, he does not believe flawed policy should get in the way of doing his job,” his office said at the time.'”

and then… “No, I never asked for stimulus,” Ryan said in a local TV interview in Cincinnati Thursday. That would be WCPO.com, channel 9, an ABC affiliate. Oh, and that’s Thursday, October 11, 2012.

His original letters were written between Ocober & December 2009.

Huh. There you have it. That’s quite tedious…I was hoping for a button, but it seems I have to pull off come html? script wizardry.

That’s why I like Topix better than Myspace.

Oh well. Another facet of life that isn’t tailored specifically for my personal convenience. Keep calm and carry on.

and one poll.. i forget which.. says that 4 of 5 independents who committed their votes will vote for Obama.
