roguedeluxMemberI will be leaving town for a week and am looking for a caring and patient person to watch my geriatric dog while I am gone.
My dog is still very lively, only takes one medication a day, and does not have any major health issues. 2 short walks a day would be adequate, but a trip here and there to the dog park, and a bit of play would be preferred.
I am looking for someone to either take her into their home, or stay at mine. While she very much enjoys the company of other dogs, it would be best if she was in a home without other dogs or cats (as she just wants to relax and have her peace and quiet).
I am not interested in having someone stop by 2 or 3 times a day. My sweetie is very aloof, but likes to be in the presence of a ‘pack’.

richwseattleParticipantKirsten does in-house dog-sitting, has worked in animal hospitals, is skilled in giving meds, etc. Plus she loves all manner of critters and would be a considerate guest in your home.
Her contact info is at http://www.auntiekirsten.com — it’s just a matter of availability.

EmmyJaneParticipantRogue- I’ll vouch for ConnaBear. She came and worked for me about a month ago and was very responsible and hard working. After meeting her I’d trust her with my fur babies.

FranciParticipantI’ll second the endorsement for ConnaBear. She worked for me too – great worker and I’d trust her with my fur babies too.

roguedeluxMemberConnabear can’t do it the dates I need (Aug 6 – Aug 14). Is anyone else available at a reasonable rate ($20 or less/day)?
June 23, 2010 at 3:39 am #697260
SueParticipantJust a thought on the rate you quoted – most pet sitters charge around $20/day just to come to your home and feed/walk the dog once a day (at least that’s what they charge me for my cat). So that may not be considered a “reasonable rate” for someone to care for the dog full time. Lady Di (who we use for our cat – seattlepetcare.com) charges $65 a day for housesitting/pet care for 24 hours.

angelescrestParticipantI have to agree, Sue. That’s $160 for eight days of pet sitting–and not just dropping in. I do understand a limited budget.

ejonesMemberI would be willing to watch her. It would need to be in your home because there is another dog in mine. I would also be working, but would be more than willing to spend time at home hanging out with the dog when I’m not at work.
