flowerpetalMemberGee Jan, I was happy enough that Tony Bennett turned 83 today. There’s lots of good news. Too bad we have to dig for it some days.
August 4, 2009 at 10:08 pm #673850
EmmyJaneParticipantMore good news- I’m no longer unemployed!! :-)
August 4, 2009 at 10:13 pm #673851

August 4, 2009 at 10:14 pm #673852
In2theknightMemberCongrats, EmmyJane. I know how good it feels to get a call saying that you’ve got a new job. Let’s go out and do the Funky Chicken to celebrate!
August 4, 2009 at 10:15 pm #673853
EmmyJaneParticipantIt is a relief! Although all the neighborhood dogs are going to be sad that they don’t get to go swimming every day!
August 4, 2009 at 11:44 pm #673854
flowerpetalMemberThat is 100 times better news than Tony Bennett’s birthday. Congrats EmmyJane.

charlabobParticipantEmmyJane, that’s great news! Hope you have a few days before you start so you can enjoy the lack of stress that comes with NOT having to hunt for a job. :-)

EmmyJaneParticipantThanks everyone, sorry to hijack the thread where two women got their freedom back with my comparatively insignificant news.
Maybe I should start a new thread dedicated only to celebrating that I no longer feel like an unemployed bum. :-) jk
August 5, 2009 at 6:01 pm #673860
EmmyJaneParticipant*Do the patented EmmyJane butt shake*
August 5, 2009 at 6:07 pm #673861
JanSParticipantlove that ad, Emmy Jane. :)
As far as the two women are concerned, we’re all glad that they’ve returned home. of course, there are people who feel that because we solved this diplomatically, instead of with firepower, that we sold out to the N. Koreans. I think that those people are full of crap, and not everything has to solved with invasions. That they have been released is wonderful..and Mr. Bill did good :)
doing funky chicken for them, too…
August 5, 2009 at 6:12 pm #673862
EmmyJaneParticipantHuman life trumps politics as far as I’m concerned, so we did good. Who gives a crap that in the grand scheme of things we “gave in” if we have two women alive and safe? Isn’t the whole point of being here to survive?
August 5, 2009 at 7:09 pm #673863
bsmommaParticipantYesterday was a good day all the way around! Yaaaa August 4th! Leo’s Rock! Happy belated birthday to me too! And everyone else! Sorry, had to throw that in there! :o)
August 5, 2009 at 8:04 pm #673864
JoBParticipantI am certain the girls and their parents don’t care at all about who did or didn’t save face…
they were nothing more than political pawns from day one.
it will be interesting to find out which side of the border they were snatched on…
