Now yer really pushing my buttons, Flood.

Slow! Slow! Don’t go so fast. Don’t you think that love can last?

“You might ask what it takes to remember

When you know that you’ve seen it before

Where a government lies to a people

And a country is drifting to war”

~ excerpt from Jackson Browne’s song called “Lives in the Balance”

    War?

    Huh-ah!

    Good God, y’all!

    What is it good for?

    Absolutely nothing.

    Lissen to me . . .

    Generals gathered in their masses

Just like witches at black masses

    Evil minds that plot destruction

    Sorcerers of death’s construction

In the fields the bodies burning

As the war machine keeps turning

    Death and hatred to mankind

    Poisoning their brainwashed minds

    Oh lord yeah!

    The Beauty of the Rain

    By Dar Williams

And you know the light is fading all too soon

You’re just two umbrellas one late afternoon

You don’t know the next thing you will say

This is your favorite kind of day

It has no walls, the beauty of the rain

is how it falls, how it falls, how it falls . . .

Oh Waynester, YOU ROCK!!! Love that song.

I like Sabbath Bloody Sabbath too…

Nobody will ever let you know

When you ask the reasons why

They just tell you that you’re on your own

Fill your head all full of lies

Have you ever watched a moonbeam

as it slid across your window pane

Or struggled with a bit a rain

Or danced about the weather vane

Or sat along a moving train

And wondered where the train has been

Or on a fence with bits of crap around its bottom

Blown there by a wind beam

Who searches for the moon beam

    Who was last seen

Looking at the tracks of the careless wind beam

Or moving to the tracks of the tireless freight train

And lighting up the sides of the weather vane

and the bits of rain and the window pane

And the eyes of those who think they saw what happened

    1) it doesn’t mean that much to me to mean that much to you – Old Man Neil Young

    2) What’s so funny ’bout peace, love and understanding

    3) It’s better to burn out, than to fade away……

    4) You start a conversation you can’t even finish it.

You’re talking a lot, but you’re not saying anything.

When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed.

Say something once, why say it again?

Hey Alki, wanna’ hear something funny? I was playing Psycho Killer on my guitar yesterday out of the blue – hadn’t played it in years and have no idea why it popped into my head. An hour or so later I was in the car and the studio version came on the radio?? (you never hear the song on the radio – especially the studio version!!). And then, you made your post. 3 PK references within a few hours??? Hmmmm…

Here’s what I think about bands with names like “Psycho Killer”:

Think I’ll go bite the head off a small animal now.

DBP – Psycho Killer isn’t a band…..it’s a song from Talking Heads. Am I missing something?

Wakeflood – And you may ask yourself

    What is that beautiful house?

    And you may ask yourself

    Where does that highway go?

    And you may ask yourself

    Am I right?…Am I wrong?

    And you may tell yourself

    MY GOD!…WHAT HAVE I DONE?

Out of all those kinds of people,

You got a face with a view.

I’m just an animal looking for a home,

Share the same space for a minute or two…

That is a pretty tune, TBS. Speaking of pretty tunes…

“We were born before the wind

    Also younger than the sun

Ere the bonnie boat was won as we sailed into the mystic

Hark, now hear the sailors cry

Smell the sea and feel the sky

Let your soul and spirit fly into the mystic”

    Maybe there’s a God above

but all I’ve ever learned from love

Was how to shoot at someone who outdrew you

That might be the finest love? song ever written. Evocative, visceral and gutting…
