I thought I’d post here just to see if there were any other people around who thought the toilet at Ercolini park was a health hazard?! I appreciate the fact that someone thought we might like one there but it’s really disgusting!! I hear more parents trying to get their kids to wait until they get home rather than venture into it!

I wonder if it’s worth trying to raise some money to try and get a proper building there? Or who to even ask about doing this ( I’m not from the US so am not sure what the next step would be?)

    Anyone else feel the same?

YES! My husband and I are appalled at the state of that bathroom. I think writing and/or calling the Seattle Parks Dept. is what needs to be done. It really needs to be emptied on a more regular basis or a permanent facility that is hooked up to the city sewer system needs to placed there. Maybe we can start a campaign of calling the seattle parks dept. or sending them pictures of the toilet. It IS a health hazard.

Here’s the Parks dept. page. Anyone else concerned about the this almost always-nearly overflowing park toilet? Then please contact the seattle parks dept. via phone or their contact form. Here’s the main web page:

    http://www.seattle.gov/parks/

Ercolini park is not listed on the contact form list of parks, but it is a city park and is maintained by the city.

I used this form to complain about the toilet. I noticed the issue last Thursday: http://www.seattle.gov/parks/contact/Form.asp

This must be relatively new as during the winter months it seemed “OK” as far a portolets go.

See the speedy reply I got about 2 hrs after reporting via the web:

    Dear –

I’ve reported the overflowing portable toilet at Ercolini Park—thanks so much for letting us know!  Parks staff were discussing this morning that the portable there needs to be serviced more frequently than its current schedule.

    Thanks again for contacting us!

    Sincerely,
