littlebrowndogParticipantI’m not really sure it is cost-effective to repair a VCR/DVD player. The problem is that there is a disc stuck inside the DVD player and no matter how I beg and plead and curse, when I push the button the disc is not ejected. I can live without getting the player fixed, but I sure would like to get the disc out. Any suggestions?

Bikefor1MemberSounds familiar. My vcr eats tapes that are too old. It’s not like it doesn’t give me a warning, I’m just too lazy to throw the old tape out and start using a new one. So when it gets stuck, I unplug it and take off the cover. It exposes the ‘guts’ and I can extract the tape.
Are you brave enough to try it with your dvd player? Maybe ask help from someone who is techno-mechanical? Good luck! :-)

JenVMemberif you can live w/out it getting fixed, might I be so bold as to suggest a large rock? ;)

FranciParticipantThere is a TV Video repair place on 35th, east side of the street, north of Thistle… (sorry I don’t remember the name) they are pretty reasonable and may be able to repair and/or at the least get the dvd out.

addParticipantLOL – I just listened to the 5:20 funny on 103.7 (The Mountain) and there was a really funny bit about the guy getting his cd player fixed … when I saw the heading for this post I thought maybe it was a follow-on!
And – I thought about that repair place on 35th as well. Worth looking into getting it fixed – I hate the idea of all of our disposable equipment…
