SonomaParticipantI am finally ready for enter the 21st century and move from a cell phone to a smartphone. I currently have T-Mobile, which works pretty well in West Seattle. Is 4G in wide use now? If so, any preferences? I’m mainly interested in calling (what a concept!), Web browsing, email, and a decent camera, plus a good-size screen with a touchscreen keypad. Also leaning toward Android.
Cost is a big consideration – specifically contracts. Thanks for any input!

chrismaParticipantT-Mobile just started offering an unlimited talk, text and data plan for $79.99 a month. I haven’t read the fine print, but it might be something to get in on before AT&T gobbles them up.

pigeonmomParticipantI think TMobile has a good deal/free offer on the MyTouch 4G smartphone right now.
I own this and it’s fabulous.
This is my second Android smartphone and I highly recommend it.
It’s easy to use, fun, fast and has great call quality too.

EmmyJaneParticipantI like my iPhone. My only complaint is that I seem to never hear it ring, even if I have the volume turned all the way up, which causes problems for the “talking” part of the phone. :-)

JoBParticipantEmmyJane…
i love that mine sometimes doesn’t seem to ring and sends calls straight to voicemail. I check regularly enough that i seldom miss calls entirely… and i love the sense of control over how much the cellphone interferes with my life.
i don’t know why, but the ringer always seems to work in dressing rooms :(

TDeParticipantI switched from a regular Verizon cell to a Verizon LG Smart phone with 3G and love it. Cost only $29 more a month for a data package and now I’m addicted to Angry Birds… worth every dime. Since my Verizon contract was up they offered me deals and I actually got the LG phone for free. If you’ve been with T-Mobile for awhile, call them and see what they’ll offer you in a smart package.
