I’m having a strong craving for chorizo and eggs, and I think I can wait for breakfast tomorrow. Where should I go to get my fix?

Also, where are the best carne asada tacos in WS? I went to place in Ballard that was good, but $6 for two tiny little tacos!?

I hear there is a truck in White Center that is supposedly awesome! They have some outdoor seating and the hispanic kids in the neighborhood say their parents go there all the time. It’s behind Pho Tai on 15th Ave and maybe 100th?

I kinda prefer sit down places. Trucks are fine when I’m on the run, but for a Saturday morning I like to sit, take my time, and read my paper.

That is a fabulous taco truck, but I’m pretty sure they don’t do eggs and chorizo. Elgrego, have you tried the Salvadoran Bakery? They have sit-down breakfast and have chorizo and egg, I think. Endolyne Joe’s sometimes has migas with chorizo, and the Alki Cafe used to have a chorizo scramble too.

I’ve been to the Bakery, that’s a good idea. I didn’t even think about them (and I was even telling someone about it today). I don’t like Endolyne Joe’s at all, so that’s a no-go. Alki Cafe might be good, but that’s a bit of a hike for me (I leave near Westwood Village).

I’ve only cooked the chorizo and eggs myself, not sure where to order them. But I will say Puerto Vallarta has traditional carne asada tacos on their ala carte menu, they are very good and good size. They have mexican style chili relleno also, not as good as Cactus but not american style either. The taquerio (sp) truck just across the street (south) from where the old meat market used to be in White Center does have terrific ones also.

We ate dinner at Taqueria El Paisano in White Center recently, and thought it was excellent. I am not sure if they are open for breakfast, but if they are, I would certainly expect them to have chorizo & eggs. It’s on 15th just off Roxbury, across from Bartell’s.

I’m pretty certain El Paisano does not do breakfast. BUT, the Silva’s definitely do a great carne asada lunch/dinner, and the cafe has an extensive taco menu (remember? Jose (the owner) has a butcher shop attached to their cafe (his daughter runs that)…that raises the bar, to my way of thinking. :).

And, as unlikely a place as it may seem, Easy Street does a dish or two with chorizo. Haven’t had it in awhile, but I recall it was yummy. I’m kind of hung up on Easy Street’s New Huevo rancheros lately. Hint: sub out the refried beans for their house black bean salsa.

i have to say, the salvadoran bakery has my vote.

and their sweet corn tamales are incredible.

my only complaint is that i took to long to find the place.

    I’ll check El Paisano.

I also just happened to be in Easy Street this morning at got my chorizo and eggs fix. It wasn’t great, but it satisfied and I didn’t have to clean up the kitchen after.
