After the article earlier today I am thinking of putting in some cameras. Know nothing about them though. Any info appreciated.

I’m curious as well about indoor security cameras. I thought the Logitech video looked great, but unfortunately it requires a PC platform to set up. Anyone also have suggestions for a system that can be set up thru an iPad? I’m ok with buying the cameras that would be needed, but we do not have a desktop computer at all. Only have iPad and iPhone.

25 years in Security and related initiatives…

Make sure you have cameras that see clearly in day and night.

Put them at least 10-15 ft. high in both easy to be seen and not so areas – to reduce the ease of likely vandalism (cover, paint, take a bat to it…etc.)

Should have clear views – free of shrubs, etc. Higher end units will have zoom capable.

    Wireless a plus.

Ensure they are outdoor rated with secure housings.

Added lighting around your perimeter is always a solid deterent…put these on a timer.

A well trained protective dog is a close second…

Do NOT install fake units. This only hurts you by creating a false sense of security.

Routinely check your installation for accurate settings.

Do NOT rely soley on CCTV for security…that is a crutch.

    Remember…Security is not convenience.
