4th Annual West Seattle Edible Garden Tour: JULY 9th
Join Community Harvest of Southwest Seattle on the Fourth Annual Edible Garden Tour. The Tour will
take place on July 9th, from 10am-4pm. A Baker’s Dozen of West Seattle’s own amazing urban food
sources will be on display – showcasing everything from heirloom varietals to how-to get heat-loving
plants to thrive in our cool climate. From large plots to small spaces, the Tour allows gardeners to learn,
network and be inspired by the possibilities. Gardeners will be available to answer your questions about
how to grow your own food. The gardens are located throughout the peninsula – from White Center
to Genesee to the Junction, with everything from chickens to chicory to chard. Join Seattle City Council
President Richard Conlin and food activist Viki Sonntag for the grand opening of the Community Orchard
of West Seattle at noon.
Tickets are available at Brown Paper Tickets for just $8. Community Harvest Members may purchase
tickets for the Tour for just $5. For membership discount code or to become a member, please
email info@gleanit.org.Maps and tickets will also be available on July 9th at the Community Orchard of
West Seattle – at the Northeast corner of South Seattle Community College, 6000 16th Avenue

anonymeParticipantI find this last bit interesting. I heard a rumor that COWS wanted SSCC (whose property they use) to kill raccoons in the area so that their fruit would not be tampered with. Any truth to this?
