Vincent.. you are right.. the way to combat this type of behavior is to meet face to face and get to know one another.. and as luck would have it.. another chance for meet up is coming along.

in the meantime.. something about this still isn’t making sense… if stan just made up the name.. how did “he” know so much about latte mom’s life?

and.. exit stan/lattemom.. enter WSMom2…. who by the way sounds just like lattemom??? complete with veiled threats…

and where is theHouse and why is he strangely quiet?

too many mysteries… i wish i cared more.

i don’t know what kind of game is being played here.. but, it is boring… and i for one suggest we stop playing. We have plenty of real things to talk about.

I am going to respond to ideas… speak with anyone respectful.. and hope i meet those who intrigue me soon at a meet up so i can get to know them better.

I may not always be as calm and “wise” as some think me… i do generally think before i post… but i am real… every bit as obnoxious and tiring in flesh as i am online… as a few here can attest:)

The only way i know to combat illusion is with authenticity…

FYI all – I have just deleted that account after another account popped up approximately 15 minutes ago with a clearly made-up post and the same IP address. No e-mail warning because I doubt any of the e-mail addresses involved are legitimate. I will watch the registrations as closely as I can but PLEASE, if you think this person has popped up again, e-mail me because I have to generate content for the main part of this site and CANNOT hang out on the forums all day and night. Thanks.

Both those users were from the same IP address and that I will not stand for, given the circumstances. So those accounts both have been deleted and anyone else who shows up from that IP address or anything who even seems vaguely related will be deleted as well. I didn’t e-mail a warning because so many different e-mail addresses were associated with them, I suspect they are bogus.

Thank you, WSMom. Please don’t think you all have to apologize. I probably would have done the same thing.

So, lattemom stole your identity, WSMom2? Is that the situation? This is very confusing.

Wow!! I had heard about this website, but since I am too busy during the day to check it out and too tired at night I never got a chance and now I see what everyone is talking about. There are too many similiarities to count and I would very much like to know who is doing this. Yes, we are a West Seattle family and we have 1 child a daughter who briefly attended Arbor Heights, we waited until this past Summer to transfer her to Roxhill, but it wasn’t because that school was bad or anything it just wasn’t the right fit for our daughter and our family. Can’t a family transfer a child out of a school without it becoming news to the community. We like to think we made some friends at Arbor Heights.

A friend alerted me to this website and said there seems to be some information about your daughter online with alot of misconceptions and false information, someone who desperately needs medical/mental help is online and using your daughter’s transfer as means of what?? I am so confused.

I am speechless to say the least and especially when I read the posting from someone omigosh or something like that. I can’t believe that anyone we knew at Arbor Heights, even people we didn’t know well would say the things you said about our daugters transfer. I think I have figured out who you are omigosh and you really hate us that muh to post horrible lies about me?

Yes I did send afew emails to the Arbor Heights website master and she was kind enough to post them for me, if she had any objections she had the right to not post them, but she did. The only postings I made were about the lack of somewhere the kids could go to get out of the rainy/snowy weather, I could not manage the talking to teachers and attending the PTSA meetings to ask for permission for my idea, I really needed some support from other Arbor Heights parents and I did not receive any. I felt very over-whelmed because I was running a business at home, be at school for all the functions and trying get this onboard, sorry I failed everyone, but I am only 1 person. There wa a very select groups of Mothers at Arbor Heights we for the most part had other children at the school as well as a child in my daughters grade, I tried to fit in I attended every school function, I volunteered in the class, I bought every book, every t-shirt, I walked our daughter around to sell items for school fundraising and still I could not connect to anyone but 1 parent I knew before we attended that school. I should not be ridiculed for transferring our daughter out of Arbor Heights, I should not be ridiculed for not working harder to get the program of a place for rainy days on board.

Yes, we have an amazing 7 year old daughter who is just thriving thank you very much at Roxhill as a 2nd grader, I transfeered her to that school because of the educational experience at Roxhill believe it or not, she wouldn’t have advanced at Arbor Heights and I clicked right away with the teachers and the Principal Cathy Thompson at Roxhill.

I still do check the Arbor Heights website now and then so our daughter can read some of the jokes and saying her former friends write online. I also see you are working on the rainy day program, good I am glad for the kids it is about time.

I will enroll our daughter to Explorers West and I will not allow you or anyone to stop us, our daughter deserves a good solid education and if I see she can get that at Explorers West so be it.

We have hopes that in afew years our daughter and your sons or daughters will be in middle school and they can be friends, that is if you and the other parents at Arbor Heights can move forward and forget the past. We are a great little family.

I will be checking periodically this website now that I am aware that this type of activity goes on, and I will respond when I feel the need to stand up for our family.

I also hope that the OMIGOSh or whatever your name is that is can forgive us for not telling you the reason why we left Arbor Heights and that the next time you see us in the neighborhood you will look straight at us and smile as we will do the same. Please learn to be forgiving and to re-read the postings I sent on Arbor Heights website last year they are not nasty or evil as you say.

I want to add I can’t believe we were the only family to leave Arbor Heights.

    Take care!

Let me first say that I recognize our differences for sure. I know that we haven’t been real buddies, and perhaps that may not change. However, if there is any truth to the growing mystery behind “you know who”, I feel I should follow Jt’s lead and apologize. I had my strong reasons to believe differently before, but I would hate to lump you with this loser if you are truly not linked. Whatever the deal is, hope this bs is over soon and Im sorry to give you crap if it wasn’t justified.

As someone who has hosted a mailing list for over 10 years I can say the most direct way to weed out people like lattemom is with moderation control (WSB) And lots of meet ups. If people know each other and have a social bond thats deeper than an email address and hitting submit they are less likely to take the bait, and more cohesive as a group.

Posting meet ups from the forums to the front page helps invite people who lurk, but don’t post to the forums themselves ( as some employers forbid it)

And Stan, get help dude, if your so socially awkward that playing a jr high school joke on a neighborhood blog is your idea of fun, you need to get out more. Or meet some people on LIVE, WoW or your local Furry vs Klingon bowling tourney.

Borrowing someones email and bad online persona is hardly id theft, but thanks for the weird agoraphobic PSA.

You guys are funny! Oh, and the Hummer House that is destroying my view is on the 3700 block of SW Austin St. I can hear the hammering now. I was able to search the city Web site to find out who the owner is. He currently lives in Shoreline. I wonder if his current home is as ugly. Oh, dear, no columns, I hope.

Thanks for the link to the news story, JT.

I’ll admit that I enjoy watching the complete meltdown of society on internet forums, email lists, etc., in general (not just here). I don’t contribute to it (at least not intentionally), but there’s something quite amusing to me about watching it from the sidelines. I guess that’s why I like pathetically bad reality TV too. There’s this website called Survivor Sucks (started out with the Survivor TV show but now covers reality TV in general and general topics). The tone of that site is to totally bash everyone and everything in as non-PC a manner as possible. I consider this enjoyable reading. What this all says about me, you can decide. :)

So, am I offended by the name calling and immaturity on the forums? Not particularly. I wouldn’t be upset if it left, and I generally won’t instigate it, but if it’s there, well, whatever.

I’m laughing now, Lattemom/cinnamon/Lonely Stan. Do you really think anybody is going to believe anything you say now?

I have no idea who you are, and I don’t care. If you think you have clues to my identity, you really don’t.

JT – Thank you for the apology. I am also glad that we have all bonded in effect of this fiasco. Funny that this person initially started out to cause havoc, but brought us all closer.

I, too, refuse to live in fear. I think I have given my email address out on this forum, but it’s not very hard to create a new one. And if any of us run into anything weird going on, we always have Ken, master of all things computer!

NewRes – I apologize if I have been one of those to lump you 2 together. Passion for your convictions should not be confused for what is going on here.

And on a positive note to everyone – at least we’ve found a topic to bond over and make our community even cooler than it already is. I’d get all mushy about it but that would be so unlike me.

In all seriousness though, I don’t want to live in fear or be paranoid, but how do we predict when an unstable person is going to go off the deep end? I can ignore the words, as exasperating as they’ve become, but I’ve also experienced real danger in my life and don’t care to have more of that.

JoB, thanks for posting that. All too often people don’t take the time to understand how dogs communicate. We assume that because they live in harmony with us that they communicate by our rules, and that’s often where we get into trouble by doing things like hugging dogs, patting them on the head, or pursing our lips in a kissy face to them (all of which are generally not liked by dogs or even seen as threatening).

I would recommend reading “The Other End of the Leash” by Patricia McConnell – she discusses a lot about how dogs communicate and what us humans often do wrong.

I am truly Stan the lonely guy from Auburn, WA. I do have way too much time on my hands. I am very lonely. I do not have any family in the area. I am so truly sorry for everything I did. I will promise to go away. I do need to clarify one thing, I have only been pretending to be this LatteMom, I am not the same as this Cinnamon and I have never posted on Seattle Times as someone on here reported. I only gathered information online to make up another identify. Again, I am truly sorry! I will go away. But now you all see just how very easy it is to assume another identity and get away with it at least for some time. Pleae, everyone be careful. I have seen afew of you post online your email addresses, please do not do that unless you would like someone to assume your identity.

I got the name LatteMom from all the Starbuck Coffee Houses in town, a play on words.

    lattemom..

i think we still don’t know who and what you are…

and if you are that single guy with too much time on your hands… it’s too bad..

i enjoyed your conversation when you approached reality. and sometimes your posts generated interesting conversation. The real you might be an interesting addition to conversation.

As for what you think you proved… i don’t think so. I don’t think there is anyone on this forum naive enough to believe that it isn’t possible that many of the people posting on this site are not all they appear to be. The posts are only as honest as any of us make them.

Yet, regardless of what voice you choose to use here.. or anywhere for that matter… it is only a voice.. fed by a real person.. and that person can’t help coming through sometimes.

We would all be glad to see the lattemom persona go away.

It is so much sadder if this persona is built on a real person whose identity you lifted.

Or.. if you really are lattemom and the lonely young man is the persona. or….

it doesn’t really matter a lot.

i hope whoever you are that you find a way to participate in this forum or another in a way that is productive. messing with people just makes them angry.. and it never lasts long.

And as for the rest of us.. i think we can all survive one more impostor in our lives… real life is full of them you know.

It’s just like the pit bull thread.. if you walk the streets in fear of the marauding pitbull, you won’t get out much… same here.

You got it, Jan. And I reckon the t-shirt is stained with pizza sauce. Another reason I don’t post under my real name (which is kind of unusual and would be identifiable)

PS I am in need of a massage so I might soon have the privilege of meeting you in person. :)

i was so hoping that lattemom was part of theHouse’s mischief…

still… it’s odd. she posted that she is nearly 50… and has young children? possible i guess…

there were so many inconsistencies.. i just figured she was mostly imaginary.. and maybe she is.

whatever… this is too sad. i think i will go tiptoe through the tulips if i can find any.
