I can’t speak from the perspective of a MoW volunteer, but *can* speak from the perspective of a client.

MoW delivered meals to me from August of last year, until May of this year when I had to initially pause, and then eventually end the service due to a hospitalization and lengthy care in a skilled nursing facility.

Throughout those months, the various volunteers who delivered were wonderful. They as well as the MoW/Sound Generations staff that I dealt with genuinely cared about how I was doing.

I believe this would be a great opportunity for anyone looking to volunteer, and meets the requirements, especially those folks with natural empathy.

As I mentioned above, I had to end my deliveries. That was due to the fact that it was determined while I was still in the SNF that my S. Delridge apartment of 10+ years was no longer sustainable for me due to limitations in mobility. So, I and now in an assisted living facility, sadly, outside of W.S./White Center, but I really do like it here.

    Much love to MoW/SG…

    —Mike

Okay. When I have my headphones at full volume and can still hear you on speaker phone, you’re being too loud and very rude. No one cares about your plans for the weekend. We don’t want to hear your personal business. Other people exist beyond you. You’re disturbing every single person around you. Get over yourselves. You’re not that important!
