Real estate appraisal encompasses several fields of knowledge including aspects of real estate law, economics, finance, surveying, architecture and construction. It takes a true generalist to be successful. The work we do is challenging and intellectually stimulating on a daily basis. There is a lot of pressure to perform at a high level professionalism, not only in you report writing but also in your interactions with clients and property owners.

A researcher/trainees role for the first 6 months will entail a great deal of data gathering, file managing, and working on report presentation issues, like preparing maps, pictures, editing property profiles, formatting, etc.. The analysis and report writing comes a bit later after you’ve taken some of the core appraisal curriculum.

Every appraisal report is essentially broken into many small tasks – several of which are automated, while several are assigned to the research/trainee. We use systems to allow us to train new employees incrementally; progressing them into more complex task once they show proficiency each step along the way.

Job requires proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Just wondering when the Genessee playfield will finally open. My wife saw two girls climbing over the fence on their way out of the playfield – one had a tear in her Jean shorts with blood running down her leg. She (the girl)said kids are always climbing the fence to get in to play. Let’s get this taxpayer funded area open! At least during daylight hours!

Good grief aa, perhaps you should read the OP’s question more closely.

I too am curious about the Verizon 5G, but I understand it’s satellite, like your phone, correct? Rather than a direct line to your house. So depending on where you are, might be more prone to disruption. Would love to hear some someone that has it – it’s such a hassle to switch I haven’t been willing to make the leap.

Seriously? You actually think there are so many finish carpenters looking for work you will be too overwhelmed to respond back to them all? I am loathe to tell you how to operate your business but if someone took a few minutes to respond to my ad I figure I can take a few seconds to send them back a form letter “sorry but sorry, we will keep your information on file if anything opens up in the future” kind of thing. If you don’t have a decent HR program, get one, it makes correspondence super easy, and professional.

PS. I am sending this to Ventana as well, it’s not an anonymous rant

Seattle remodeling contractor is seeking an experienced carpenter with strong finish skills to join our team. We’re looking for candidates with a strong background in residential remodel construction. We’re considering carpenters who have at least 5 years experience in remodeling.

Candidates should have a solid knowledge of framing to finish specifically in remodeling. All candidates should have standard carpentry tools, personal protection gear and reliable transportation.

Carpenters should have journey-level skills, and be able to work alone or with a crew to complete framing, window and door installation, exterior trim, siding and interior finish work. This position is likely to focus on finish work, so strong skills in stain-grade materials, railings, stairs and custom millwork are essential.

Most of our projects are additions and significant remodels of existing homes. Details and quality of work are extremely important; we are looking for someone who can both focus on immediate tasks and think forward.

We offer competitive wages and full benefits: a generous PTO program, 401k and company-subsidized medical/dental/vision. We work primarily in West Seattle.

Please submit your resume to ‘ventanaresumes@gmail.com’ for consideration. Due to the large number of expected resumes, we will only respond to top candidates.

Please respond to this ad with the subject line “Skilled Carpenter”.

I got badly ripped of by one of Orange Cab’s drivers on 7/27/2022.

Pick up location – SeaTac Airport
Drop off location – 11003 31st Avenue SW, Seattle, 98146

    Pickup time: 5:11 pm
    Drop off time: 5:27 pm
    Drive time: 16 minutes
    Miles to destination: 9

When the driver dropped me off, he asked if I could pay cash. I said I could, then he told me my fair was $52.50. At that point, I realized that he did not run his meter. I explained that the fare was much higher than I expected, especially since Uber was quoting $32 for the fare. He told me the fare was high due to gas prices. I thought this was an unusual response given he drove an electric Prius vehicle. It was also odd that he calculated such a precise amount without the use of a meter or a phone app. He then lowered the fare to $50, still exorbitant.

I know it is difficult operating in a market where Uber has a presence, so I try to try to support local taxi companies. Unfortunately, I was badly ripped off by this unethical driver while trying to support a local taxi company. Using Orange Cab’s website, I calculated that the fare should be as follows:

    $2.60 Meter drop
    $24.30 Distance ($2.70 x 9 miles)
    ———-
    $26.90 Calculated fare

I attempted to call Orange Cab a dozen times, using all phone numbers listed on their website. They do not answer these phones or allow leaving a message. I then started email contacts listed on their website and finally got a reply.

Unfortunately, I did not write down the taxi or license plate number, so I am out of luck. My bad. Warning, if you use this company, make sure the meter is used. If it is not, snap a photo of the taxi number, license plate, and driver so you can report the driver and hopefully recover losses if you get ripped off.

Hello, my name is Birgit. Have you found someone yet to help your father?
I am female, 57 yeqrs old, live on Morgan Junction. I was born and raised in Germany and came to the Seattle in 1994. My background is in Personal Service, i.e. I have worked for/with several individuals who had various degrees of requirements, needs, expectations and wishes. This is a very personal and adaptable area to work in.

Is your father still driving himself?

I currently volunteer at the West Seattle Senior Center which I hope your father might be visiting. They are providing wonderful services.

I used to live on the island of Martha’s Vineyard where I cooked meals for the elderly.

I can provide several references here from Seattle and various ones from Martha’s Vineyard.
I want to make it clear that I am not a medical caregiver, nurse or similar. Companion, Household Help, “Girl Friday”, Personal Chef is probably the closest job description. I am about to set up my business again, so currently I would be able to cover these shifts you mentioned.

I am vaccinated with two Pfizer shots, I do not smoke or drink, I possess a valid driver license but currently have sold my car and plan to be earth sensitive and get around by bike and bus.

It would be lovely to talk to you even if you already found someone. I be happy to share my knowledge and maybe can offer some avdise re the senior services offered by the City of Seattle.
    They are marvelous.

You can reach me anytime at 206-557-9681, pls leave reference WEST SEATTLE BLOG on my voice mail in case I am not available. Feel free to call between 8am – 9pm any day.

    Look forward talking to you.

Stay cool in this Sweltering heat, I hope your dad has A/C or a cool basement. :-)

We are looking for a few part-time “Bees” (professional organizers) to join our growing “Hive.” Bees work in a variety of locations throughout the greater Seattle area providing Compassionate, Confidential, and Judgement Free home organization services, move & life transition assistance, and concierge services. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who understands the value of organization and is looking for schedule flexibility in a fun, collaborative, empowering environment. Training on our organizational methods is provided but a positive, can-do attitude is a must! Please feel free to reach out for more information and an application – suzanne@beeorganized.com or @ http://www.beeorganized.com.
