Clark, you are right and that was part of my point. Dino is hardly an outsider, just the same old same old. By Dino entering the race it all but assures he and Murray are the final 2. In that case, he won’t stand a chance where as a true outsider and newcomer might. I would love fresh ideas, just not a Tea Bag idea!! (read:Didier)
I guess I’m going to buck the trend, but the few times I’ve had a pedicure, I liked Head to Toe at California & Admiral. I really prefer a more relaxed pedicure than the nail salons like City Nails and Nail Time offer. Head to Toe is definitely more tranquil and easygoing, in my experience.
don’t be fooled into thinking this is just Texas’s problem. These are the same wingnuts who would like to sell America on putting them in charge again.
That is some bill of goods they are selling..their idea of equal opportunity is to reduce us all to the lowest common denominator.
Anybody still buying?
Linda at City Nails is the BEST. They last so long. They never chip. And she has the most clean nail salon I have seen in West Seattle.
They (Safeway) claim they will have the final word in June and will start right away. I had also heard Sept, but you know how rumors start….

CMP, read the original post again. It was not the parent or some nosy patron who objected to the beer bottle. It was the owner, and it IS his business. Your opinion (or the parent’s opinion) of how dangerous it is for a baby to suck on a beer bottle doesn’t matter at all. What matters is that it’s against the law. The owner is entirely within his rights to see that his patrons comply with the law. However, if you had read any of the replies, you would have noticed that virtually everyone agrees that no one needed to “freak out” about this and it could have been handled much more diplomatically.
MJ171, per WSB’s Rant Rules, people need to share how they tried to work things out with the business before they post a rant. Per your original post, there doesn’t seem to be anything listed about whether your family has tried to contact BR to share your experience and give them a chance to make it right.
They travel through our front yard at all times of the day, morning, noon and night – drives our dogs nuts to see these guys in the yard. I think nocturnal raccoons are a thing of the past.
I just wanted to get the word out that I have started a meetup group called Walking Women of West Seattle. It is free to participate and there are already 20+ women signed up. I am starting this group as a way to motivate myself and others to get out and improve our health through walking. I enjoy walking, but don’t always want to do it by myself. This group is for drama-free, open-minded women 15-100 that want to find other local women to walk with in West Seattle. Check it out… http://www.meetup.com/Walking-Women-of-West-Seattle/
Sounds like the guy who came to our door. He was angry that we wouldn’t open the door. We have a no solicitors sign and he said twice “i’m not selling anything”. He was incredibly rude. He kept ringing our doorbell and knocking on the door. We have a ill dog and I finally looked out the window to see what it was all about. He was not wearing anything to indicate who he worked for.
We never solved this one but we did finally post on the main page after getting a few notes/tweets/questions about it. Definitely wasn’t news, though it was similarly sized and had a camera on the nose. Not Guardian One, either. There’s a disaster drill tomorrow – might have been prep for that – or not. We have had the occasional aerial photography sighting, though – I remember one mysterious nighttime chopper in The Junction that turned out to be doing infrared work!
Nail Time! Their polish just stays on longer..it’s magical!
I always go to Nail Time at least once a month. I just saw Heather today and she is by far the best. She gives more “rub time” to the feet not just the leg. It is after all a PEDIcure! Not a CALF-icure.
I just went to Regina Nails for my first pedicure of the season, upon this recommendation, and it was all that you said, manolita. I will definitely go again!
this is just more of the same bad customer service from comcast. No need to read but it can be kinda funny when it happens to someone else I guess. Enjoy.
Here is what just happened to me this evening. An older gentleman with the flourescent waistcoat and comcast id stuff rings my doorbell. I answered the door. Hi you are XXX? I reply, Yes I am and I believe the last time someone from comcast called to my door I requested that you DO NOT call to my home. Response mmmmm doesn’t show that here. You need to call comcast and request that. I say OK well I’m not interested. Thanks. Response. You sure you don’t want to add the phone to you bundle for…. I close the door. I call comcast I hit 4 on the menu selection for change of service/downgrade. I get a message our business hours are 8am-8pm, no-one is here please call back during business hours. I guess they don’t mention time zone but it was not 8pm yet. I call again and hit 3 on the menu for service transfer/upgrade. Please wait on the line your wait time is 1 min. 15 seconds later. Hi I’m xxx how can I help you? I reply I just had someone from comcast call to my door and I believe I requested that this not happen. She says let me check, yes it shows privacy requested. No one should be calling to your door. When did this happen? I reply about 10 min ago. Comcast replies well I will contact the supervisor to have them relate that this should not have happened and they will give you a call. I say no I don’t want someone calling me. What would they call me for? Comcast replies to apologise. (Side note does anyone else see the annoying irony in this?) So I ask can I get some email or written confirmation about the privacy preference. Comcast replies No I’m not authorised to do that. I ask so would the supervisor be able to do that? Comcast replies no they would just call to apoligise. Is there anything else I can help you with? I ask so if the status of my account was changed would I get an email confirming this. Comcast replies yes BUT your account status was NOT CHANGED. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN HELP YOU WITH? I say yes what is your name again. Comcast reples xxx. I ask if I need to identify you? Comcast replies with a code. I needed the letters identified. Comcast gives me that and I will have the supervisor call you. Ireply NO. I DO NOT WANT TO GET A CALL IS THAT CLEAR. Comcast IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I CAN HELP YOU WITH!!! I say what do you think? The end. or the end? The words etc are not exact. I don’t think we were shouting but some change of tone was noticable. So what can I do? How can I hurt comcast in a slow painful and horrific way? What should I do the next time comcast comes calling?
Im a 17 year old female looking for something to keep me up & going. I live in West Seattle and very available. I’m excellent with children, experience in retail & spa’s & salons, & lots of volunteer work under my belt. I’m not into the party scene in Seattle that most of the people my age are doing and just want to be productive. Im into going somewhere and doing good things for my life. If you have any work let me know :]

Thank you each and every one of you for coming through for the homeless student. I gave her her gift certificate and treats on Saturday the 15th and she was ecstatic. She kept asking, “Why me, why me?”. She had no idea this was coming!
It was a great pleasure for me (with the aid of my wonderful supporters!) to pull off our first ever donation drive. There is a great need out there for service dog training and most of my clients really do need financial support but no one compared to this girls story. Once I heard that she was not only disabled but homeless I had to do SOMETHING for her. Can you imagine making the decision to have to leave your dog with various friends each and every night and then go back to the shelter without your dog? Most people in her situation would have given up the dog but she has chosen an infinitely harder path.
This week she graduated from the pet dog class and informed me that she plans on using her diploma from the pet dog class to try and convince the staff at the shelter to let the dog in too. In a few weeks she will be starting the Service Dog Adult Access class and in all honesty I cant wait to start teaching it.
Again, thank you for helping me help this young woman. This is only the first small step in a large journey to spread positive dog training energy across the West Seattle community.

mannamc- i just followed your lead and called comcast to ask to be put on their ‘do not knock list’. i was told that no such list exists because comcast hires a 3rd party to go door-to-door, Comcast can’t control whose door they knock on. one more reason to dislike comcast.
Rossi lost by 194,614 votes. The final tally was Greogorie 1,598,738 to Rossi’s 1,404,124.
Here’s your hat sir. The door is that way!
Which poll has Rossi in the lead? Ellway and Rasmussen polls have Murray ahead. Even if you add in the one poll that I could find which showed Rossi in the lead (Survey USA) and combined all three results, Murray would still win using a Monte Carlo analysis.
Truth be told, most the residents miss hearing the loud boom, boom, boom, the honking, bumper to bumper pollution, revving engines, screaming, hormonal poping sounds ect., from noon until at least midnight. Lets close the road for the summer!!!
Thank you for the Rave/Recommendations.

On California Ave SW a few doors down from Cafe Lardo, she has been in the spot for 20 years.
Ive only had jeans hemmed but she did a good job a at a reasonable cost.
