Coming back and reading more of Eddies posts I relate to feeling so frustrated with all the awful circumstances we are subjected to in this city that we love. It seems to be falling apart in front of us. Garbage is the thing that I continue to feel so incredibly frustrated with. So as Eddie contemplates checking car registration at gas stations, I ponder the possible effect of posting photos of all the piles of Seattle garbage I pass every day. Day after day, sharing with others, this is Seattle. I’m not sure trying to shame the city would work but I can dream.
And as Ukraine is being brutally attacked, my actual problems are few.

We are hoping to fill an Assistant Teaching position at our school, Bella Mente Early Learning. We are a Reggio inspired school. Reggio schools are impossible to mimic, however, we have taken the ideas that truly speak to us and have developed our school around them. We serve over 100 families, ages infancy through pre-k. We are seeking a responsible, reflective, collaborative, and compassionate individual, who has chosen to pursue a career in Early Childhood Education. We have created an environment where children feel secure and confident and are treated as proficient individuals who are capable of communicating and problem solving and who want to be a part of their own learning. Our teachers are competent leaders who participate in the overall development of our school. Our classrooms work individually to develop curriculum around the interests, inquiries, and identities of the children and teacher that they serve. We want to bring in teachers who can help us in continuing to grow toward what our intended vision is for our school. Experience is not necessary but an open mind and heart is. If you are or know anyone that might be a good fit for this position please send them my way!

Hey, that is right – I did forget that Christmas is on my birthday and for a reason. The day I die is in summer so I get those mixed up. It took only 35 hours or so to be resuscitated by myself. I remember it like it was exactly the same amount of time it was ago…I got her going 12 minutes to the 36th hour. A real

If you honestly can’t afford to register your vehicle and pay taxes, then the state should work with you to take care of that. If you’re just too lazy, self important and disrespectful of the rest of us, then too bad, no gas for you.

Please imagine thi#. It’s about 11 pm, 2 “suspicious” looking vehicles with tinted windows stop by the Roxbury Safeway gas station. There’s a young attendant male/female forced to check for registration before gas is bought or risks loses his/her job. What do you think is going to happen to that employee after asking an aggressive customer for his/her registration?

You are another breed of stupid if you think this is logical. Have you not been paying attention to the staff shortages? QFC can’t even stay open past 10 PM, store shelves aren’t stocked because there aren’t employees to stock them. Who’s going to check ID’s for alcohol purchases, lottery tickets, etc?
Are you aware of nightly shootings downtown? Maybe some people are choosing to feed their children instead of paying their tabs because minimum wage doesn’t cut it and rent just increased. There isn’t government assistance for car registration except a $20 voucher and that’s a shitty rebate considering gas prices. Ever considered offering to pay someone’s registration? Or you can simply ignore those breaking the law because they’ll get caught anyway and stop coming up with stupid ideas.
Don’t come at me.

Maybe offer to fix the muffler. It is actually very cheap as long as you don’t take it to a garage and you can either get parts online cheap or get the same parts a garage would charge you $400 to get and you can get the exact same part for $40. And because garages are now charging $100+ an hour instead of paying them a couple thousand dollars to fix something I would offer to do it for a couple hundred dollars. If anyone wants to help out maybe start a go fund me or just donate some money. Heck if I can help out and save the poor person that delivers papers at 3am I would be there in a heartbeat. You all put your money where your mouth is and I’ll be there to help out someone that’s probably in need and can’t afford a garage. Let’s do our part to help our communities. We all live together. Don’t single one person out and say well they should be doing this. Let’s figure out ways to help our fellow people.

I’ve been looking for any magazines but definitely old Life magazines for a project I’m working on. They’re more difficult to find than I imagined.

If you have any you don’t want taking up space, I’ll gladly take them :)

First of all, why should any of us care about something like this when it doesn’t affect us? Secondly, it would definitely not be something reasonably easy to do. I am disabled and already can’t get someone to pump my gas for me (despite the ADA rules that say otherwise) unless I drive to Costco for gas. Would we all have to go line up inside the convenience store at the local gas station to have our cards checked? I think this would go just as well as how people reacted to having vaccine cards checked (which was not received well by many). And how many people do you think are actually driving around with expired tags? 50 or 100 people should wait online to prove they’re worthy so we can catch the 1 who isn’t?

Hello,
I am interested in learning about co-working or co-crafting spaces in West Seattle. I have a computer job and I’m on conference calls about 1/2 of the time. I also enjoy drawing and other crafts. I enjoy ambient noise – kids, dogs, other people working, the sounds of a busy store, or the like. I’d be open to working in someone else’s home, office, the back end of someone’s local store in extra space, or other spaces. I’m friendly and upbeat, but also respectful and quiet. I am sensitive to molds, dust, and cats, so I’d like a clean, cat-free space.
I tried the Co-working space in West Seattle next to Paper Boat, but I had a reaction to the space (dust mites, mold?).
I’d be there during the day, probably. Open to a variety of prices/space ideas.

So, the gas station attendants would be responsible? What about stations that only have one person inside a minimart? There are very few gas stations these days that have attendants out by the pumps. Can you imagine the lone Costco gas attendant having to look over every car before the driver pumps gas? Sorry I think your thought is far from ‘easy to do’. And if I am not mistaken, the city or some governmental agency just decided they weren’t going to fine people for not having current registration tabs. And it seems to be that the old beat-up vehicles that are housing people all over the city rarely move so they don’t even have the need or ability to pump gas. Back to the drawing board Eddie.

Tired of seeing so many scoflaws with expired vehicle registration tags? What would you think about requiring proof of current registration prior to being allowed to put gas/diesel in your car/truck?
Seems like it would be reasonably easy to do and would minimize the burden on law enforcement.

I have been contacted by a representative from the US Census Bureau. They conduct follow-up surveys with selected households, asking for detailed info about income and expenses. I was able to provide this info anonymously, but it does seem legitimate but intrusive and I wondered if anyone else had any experience with this.

Verizon is the best overall. Many places-La Push; South end of Orcas Island for example only Verizon gets a signal. If you do much travelling I would definitely stick with Verizon. Have you called Verizon?? As WSB said they may be doing upgrades in your area which will improve service.

We are in Upper Fauntleroy (uphill from south-central Lincoln Park) and have both Verizon and AT&T phones in the house. The Verizon signal is much stronger (I’m looking at my AT&T phone right now and as usual it has only one tick). However, things can and do change – in my near-daily checks of building permits, the cell companies are often adding to/swapping out their local facilities … TR
