    The STOP N’ SHOP thrift is lucky to be the recipient of many wonderful donations from the community, ranging from furniture, clothing, and electronics. We also have many return customers looking for that special something and they could use your help. We need a volunteer to greet customers, be available for questions, help with merchandising and laundry.

    Happily, the proceeds from the store provide financial support that keep the many wonderful programs running at the Senior Center of West Seattle.

    Hours: Saturday from 1-4pm

    Please complete our online application at https://scws.typeform.com/to/DBaLgg or contact the Volunteer Coordinator, at 206-932-4044 or via email at jillk@soundgenerations.org to learn more!

    If so, the Senior Center Stop N’ Shop has a great volunteer opportunity for you as a Product Tester. We need someone to test incoming electronic donations, such as coffee makers, crock pots, radios, etc. to ensure they work before we sell them. You may also help research products to help determine pricing. 3 hours per week, you choose the day!

    On Alki apparently there is little the police or the park rangers can do about it. This WSB post from a few months ago pretty much sums it up: https://westseattleblog.com/2016/06/im-not-going-to-lie-to-you-spd-hears-complaints-from-alki-community-council-says-not-much-can-be-done/

    That is also concerning to hear that stretch of California is having speeding problems. Especially considering there is a children’s gym and a school right there. That road is very narrow as well and I always feel unsafe trying to parallel park or cross the street there.

    So we left the cape. We were desperate for new Ice charts. We got them, they showed us we could sail up past Chelyuskin in open sea !! but then the Laptev sea was still blocked for us. BUT we were on a roll, we tried to get as far as we could, but the ice was so thick , you could have skied faster. So, we had to retrace our route. We are now anchored by the shore against some fast ice.

    The Polar Ocean Challenge is taking a two month journey that will see them go from Bristol, Alaska, to Norway, then to Russia through the North East passage, back to Alaska through the North West passage, to Greenland and then ultimately back to Bristol. Their objective, as laid out by their website, was to demonstrate “ that the Arctic sea ice coverage shrinks back so far now in the summer months that sea that was permanently locked up now can allow passage through. â€

    Please text or call if you see something! 206-293-6302 – It’s not always on the scanner and if there is no SFD component, other means of alerts are few, so we are very reliant on people letting us know when they see big police responses. The Tweets By Beat (which are aggregated on the WSB Crime Watch page) are not in real time – so I’m guessing what you saw was this “commercial burglary” call posted a few hours later:

    2600 block of SW Andover for the call *likely* means it was the club, but the report details won’t be accessible until Monday at the soonest … TR

    Many people seem to sell things at yard sales that not only *they* don’t want, but *nobody* really would want.

    This is not one of those sales.

    We have accumulated a number of things we no longer need or have been stored and have sat around unused for too long.

    A short list of some of the items we will have for sale:

    * Ikea desk (79″ x 24″)
    * Brother sewing machine
    * Yamaha electric guitar / amp
    * Snowboard, boots, bindings
    * Logitech X-530 5.1 surround sound speakers
    * Kid’s clothes and toys
    * Books
    * Misc. home decor (including items from Pottery Barn)
    * Tile cutter and tile tools
    * And much, much, more!

    follow the money honey
    and when you do so you find that behind activist facts
    lie these folks

    Home

    hmmmmm

    and since when is exposing media bias… known in common vernacular as lies lies and more damn lies … a bad thing?

    don’t you want to know when you are being lied to and manipulated?

    you should. if you don’t challenge everything you hear.. especially if you believe in it..you will soon find that your only justification for your opinions is “he said so”… shaky ground at best.

    but back to the subject at hand..

    Within the foreseeable future climate model tuning will continue to be necessary as the prospects of constraining the relevant unresolved processes with sufficient precision are not good.

    MODELS UNROBBED

    EXPLAINING THE TRICK

    The claim is made that the past temperature data has certain flaws that lower global warming predictions. Then it is said if those flaws are applied against the temperature data used in the models — then suddenly, the predictions of the models lower to match the predictions of the past flawed temperature data.

    The conclusion drawn, being that only if you deliberately apply flaws to the models do they predict wrongly.

    The first trick is that the models have totally different flaws than the supposed flaws in the temperature data. The models are assumed to be perfect and their flaws and failure to mimic reality are not addressed.

    The second trick is that when you blow off their BS, what the author’s are really saying is that the temperature data they use in their models is correct — and the measured real world temperature data is incorrect and must be altered to match the temperature data already being used in the models. In other words, real world data must be altered so that when it is plugged into the models it gives the modelers the answers they want. The models are perfect — it is the real world data that is wrong. ( That, of course, is the main pillar of AGENDA climate science — the real world data is wrong. )

    There is absolutely no proof here that the climate models are correct. There is plenty of proof that the people who wrote the below two papers are grifters.

    IF YOU CAN’T CONVINCE

    CONFUSE

    It’s almost funny. But it will get funnier when they discover that the models are seriously flawed. They are, because they have a much too high climate forcing by CO2 built in. So, when they discover the error they will be faced with this dilemma : how to re-adjust the now adjusted earlier adjustments. It will come straight out of a Monty Python script. It seems to me that they are continuing to operate under the same flawed assumption that has plagued this whole subject from the start – namely that all you have to do in order to accurately project climate in the future is retroactively tweak climate models to fit the past. While that might work in some more confined scientific disciplines, I do not see how it can achieve the accuracy claimed for a system as complex and chaotic as the Earth’s climate – about which we are still largely in the dark and figuratively grasping at straws.

    It sounds more like one or more issues with your browser than with Comcast or your system hardware. Have you tried an alternate browser? I primarily use Firefox, but find that some sites work better with Internet Explorer or Edge (Microsoft’s successor to IE), and I sometimes use Chrome as well. If the browser is the problem, you might be using an add-on or two that conflicts with how the Web page was coded.
    Since you mentioned Comcast in your header, you might want to check the quality of your internet connection as well. Comcast has some suggestions on how to go about that: https://customer.xfinity.com/help-and-support/internet/Troubleshooting/

    Good luck.

    Not sure about Amazon, but Uber provides insurance while you are providing a ride.

    Alternatively, you could purchase a commercial insurance policy that would provide total coverage. Try Progressive
