Just want to give everyone a heads up that a vaccinated student at Madison Middle School just tested positive for pertussis. The parent was hyper-alert and had the test done when a “normal” mild cold abruptly turned into a barking cough just four days after onset of symptoms. To everyone’s surprise, the test came back positive. This early diagnosis allowed the student to start antibiotics promptly, which will both protect the community and minimize the severity of the symptoms.

According to the CDC “Vaccinated children and adults can become infected with and spread pertussis; however, disease is typically much less serious in vaccinated people.” (Source: https://www.cdc.gov/pertussis/fast-facts.html) Given that more than 99% of pertussis cases go undiagnosed (Source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5085009/), there may be 100 people in the larger West Seattle area who have pertussis.

Please spread the word. The vaccine helps, but we need a strong second line of defense. To protect newborns, please keep ALL coughs away from babies and pregnant people in their third trimester. If you are a primary caregiver for a newborn and develop a cough, please inform your medical provider that there is a documented case of pertussis in West Seattle. Early use of antibiotics can stop the progression of pertussis. For newborns, that can save lives. For everyone else, it means less illness, and a much shorter contagious period.

The RV already got issued a 72-hour tow notice. What a hypocrite!!! It’s okay to park for 30 days in front of businesses and flood average Joe’s neighborhoods. But don’t park one of these rat-infested heroin dens in front of a council member’s house. Lisa Herbold is a hypocrite. Looks like the police are only allowed to enforce the 72-hour notice for council members.

Am surprised WSB did not cover this story or they rather cover soft news like the opening of a supermarket.

Boiling point: Who towed garbage-filled RV to council member’s house?

    OCTOBER 9, 2019 AT 3:52 PM
    1 / 3
UPDATE: The Dori Monson Show may have found out who towed the RV, but additional fact-checking is required before the tip can be confirmed. Tune into the show at noon on Thursday to find out the latest.

Things are getting fast and furious in Seattle. My show prep blew up Wednesday morning when a Seattle Times reporter called our news desk and informed us that last night someone towed an RV in front of Seattle City Councilmember Lisa Herbold’s house.

KIRO Radio Reporter Carolyn Ossorio went to the scene in West Seattle and observed that the RV was uninhabitable and filled with garbage, emitting an odor.

“It’s the perfect vehicle for somebody who is wanting to prove a point,” she told us.

I’m in a townhome off Delridge closest to Trenton. Ordered vanilla extract from Amazon and had notification of delivery of 9/13. Got home and did not have a box on premises; chalked it up to theft and re-ordered, having it delivered to work instead.

Ran into my neighbor tonight and mentioned it; he has a door cam and reviewed footage of the day. Sure enough, two minutes after the delivery guy appears, a blonde woman in a grey hoodie comes around the corner, checked the neighbor’s porch, steps out of view onto mine, then walks off. I have screenshots and footage but don’t see where to attach (first WSB post)…anyone else in the area had similar experience?
