elgrego…my thought was…don’t let the door hit you in the a$$ on your way out. They weren’t MY basketball team for many , many years…us regular people can’t afford to go, and they could give a damn about us. I’ve always thought that they were overpaid, spoiled, etc, etc…what you hear about a lot of NBA players. Give me the Huskies…give me the Storm – they’re definitely exciting to watch and get behind, they actually care about their fans. And, boy, when the Sounders get it going, that’ll be great fun…

AnonymousInactivedood, I think it does. And I make my lattes in the privacy of my home so I must be a closet something? Although I also dabble with the French Press, but NEVER drip.

JanSParticipantwhile I actually enjoyed the rain today, it felt so refreshing…it’s frickin’ 51 degrees out there…yeah, this has been some winter/spring…
Gen Hill One…I turned on my spaceheater last evening…and that’s totally unlike me. It says maybe some sun between showers on Saturday? seeing is believing :)

JanSParticipantTVB….I’m sure they wouldn’t discriminate…I think that’s what I love about that place. I’ve been there when all I was drinking was diet coke…and didn’t feel bad about it. We’ll just call you the DD :)

Nah…..I would’ve noticed that. I kind of pride myself on knowing every pastry opportunity in the ‘hood. :)

However – I don’t want the word to get out too much! I would hate to be in a line extending out on Harbor.

WSBKeymasterYes, that’s supposed to be office space. At least per the city permit.
Re: drive-thru espresso … if you go a mile further beyond North Delridge (or so) Sleepless on Harbor Ave is pretty decent. — TR

jkboisonMemberDood thanks, that was at least a quarters worth of info ( ;
Yes that corridor needs more options for eating out. A good coffee shop to drive thru in the am and somewhere to pick up some decent food for din on the way home. From the Bridge to Westwood is aproximately 4 miles of well traveled road with only one Teryaki, one pizza, one taco truck and 2 coffee shops (without a little drive up
window)! Big opportunity there.
Anyone know what kind of bakery that is in the building kind of across from Olympic pizza?? There is no sign but must be a commessary bakery for local coffee shops??? I,ve seen the bakers rack in the windows and always wonder (I used to be a baker)…..

hey – i think i recall TR saying that the construction next door was only identified as new business/office space????
I’m noticing lately what is going in that corridor between Bubbles up north and Olympia down south. That could be the beginning of a solid business core of the Valley, now that there is positive foot traffic into both places. They could act as anchors.
I remember a million years ago before the Madison Valley area was revitalized, as they say. One or two places plopped down on lower Madison….then, one by one others started heading in and established foot traffic. This phase of Delridge, I think, reminds me of that beginning.
Look at Madison Valley around The Bailey-Boushay House now! It is unrecognizable and completely renewed and thriving.
A drive-through espresso place would work in Delridge! That corridor gets SO much AM traffic that it would surely thrive!!!! Maybe someone reading will run with your idea.
I just drove down Delridge yesterday looking specifically at houses that might be salvageable for some enterprising vegan/veggie to rehab and run a quality vegetarian restaurant out of.
I am convinced there is a market down there. But, people need to snatch up the properties and NOT tear down, but rehab and preserve the remaining character.
ok. that’s my nickel’s worth for the evening.

lagMemberjkboison,Our family has had a very positive experience at CSWS. Our 3 1/2 yo daughter started in 9/07 and has really blossomed there. Her teachers are kind, thoughtful and incredibly creative. Such a variety of learning experiences presented. Sometimes I have a hard time leaving in the morning b/c I want to watch the kids as they explore their environment. I also love how much time they spend outside. I’m also a big fan of the year-round schedule.
All that said, I also believe that different kids have different needs, and CSWS may not be the right place for everyone. We originally started at the Cottage School at Gatewood and lasted about 2 weeks. Just not the right place for our daughter.
walfredoMemberRichardson is a tough choice, because he was part of the Clinton adminsitration and the Clinton clan got very angry with him when he supported Obama. It almost rubs salt in the wounds, for the moderate Clinton supporters.
I much prefer a Clinton surrogate over Clinton, if the Obama campaign chooses that is the best chance to win in November. Rendall, Wesley Clark, someone who can reach out to Hill’s supporters…
Truly I think the party is about to turn against Hill’s. What she did tonight was nothing short of amazing. Chuck Todd compared it to the head coach of the losing team of the Super Bowl being interviewed after the game. The other team had won, the time had run out, they’d taken the Lombardi trophy. They then say, well we are clearly a much better team, and he have shown that in the 3rd quarter. I don’t accept the outcome of the game, and I will let you know what I decide.

charlabobParticipantI think BPP might have become stricter about service dogs…last time we were there, Tuxedo (one of my favorites) wasn’t there but his posse of people was.

elgregoMemberI’ll plan on being there. BPP was allowing dogs last time I was there too… anyone else thinking of bringing their surrogate child?
June 4, 2008 at 4:24 am #587114jkboisonMemberAnyone know what is being built? Is it an addition to Olympic Pizza??
Also, when is someone going to open a decent DRIVE THRU coffee shop on Delridge?? I would buy one everyday!!

TheVelvetBulldogMemberI’d love to hang out with y’all – I’ve met most of you, and I’m 40, so I’m sort of in-between everyone. But here’s the thing: I don’t drink. I’ve been avoiding going to BPP even though it’s in my neighborhood because I didn’t think they’d want someone hanging out NOT drinking. I mean, that’s how they make their money right? So is it ok for me to go and take up a bar stool, knowing full well that I’m not going to spend more than $2.50 on a soda?

JanSParticipantAshley..I was thinking the same thing. And considering that they’re just 2 weeks into it, and getting , for the most part, good reviews…imagine what it’ll be like when they get in their groove.
Mark Fuller….you out there? When you get that website up and running, remember the testimonials…:)

AshleyMemberI am very excited for opening of Spring Hill but I hope everyone realizes that a restaurant must go through growing pains. It is hard to judge how busy a new restaurant may be. Yes it sucks that they were out of a lot of things but no restaurant or business for that matter is perfect right from the start. Most restaurants started and ran by small business owners often don’t make money until months after they open. Let’s all think about how big of an undertaking it is to open a restaurant when you start to criticize.

AnonymousInactiveIt could be a “Welcome back, Jan” theme!
Of course EVERYONE is welcome!
House?
beachdrivegirlParticipantTrick I am with you. I am 110% confident that Obama can win without Clinton on the ticket. I think that Obama will find another spot for her hat may even be more fit than VP and that she is much needed but the ticket is not the right place. and to be honest I am to turn to say one person has to be on the ticket over the other…at the moment I am leaning towards richardson.
