aa, thanks for bringing this up. I totally agree with you that this is a problem. Amazon is a mixed blessing at best, and – not to sound superficial – Bezos creeps me out.
    I’m voting for Herbold.

Doesn’t bother me in the least. Amazon isn’t doing anything that hasn’t been done since we’ve held election’s. Special interests from the far left to the far right have spent lot’s of money over the years to sway election’s and push their agenda’s. The only one’s affected are the one’s that don’t bother to pay attention to the issues. I’ve alway’s voted for the people and issues i care about. The commercial’s and mailer’s and robo call’s are anoying but i’ve found it easy to hang up or utilize the recycleing bin. Don’t blame Amazon!! Disclosure: i’m an hourly worker at Boeing. They spend LOT’S of money on politician’s/issue’s also.

@Graciano- I walked passed by the Coleman Pool and nobody was swimming
I drove passed the SW Athletic field and nobody was playing baseball and so is the baseball park in downtown.
Your car is sitting idle 99% and so is your house, we can just use them.

    Hello,

We have an older pup who sometimes needs to stay outside and will get caught in bad weather. So we bought a tent / shade tent for her (it closes all the way up so it isn’t a shade tent, but it’s very light and roomy enough for two people.

So light that during the windstorm last night, it seems to have turned into a sail and was lifted up and out of our yard in the middle of the night. We are in the Admiral neighborhood and I’m wondering if anyone has seen it blowing around. Our pup would really appreciate having it back. Happy to pick it up. Yes – driven the neighborhood looking everywhere, wondering gif it ended up in a back yard…

    Thanks

    Keri

    Hello fellow West Seattleites!

I was wondering if anyone might have a full-sized nativity scene (or know of anywhere that might) for me and my family to use for this year’s Christmas card. Looking to do this in about a month or so.

Any leads you may have are extremely helpful!

    Best,

    Scott

Who said she reported the RV? The report says a neighbor reported it, which led to a radio show finding out about and spreading the news-which led to the vandalism, the reporter trespassing the RV and eventually a violent confrontation where a person threatened the pregnant woman with a knife, after throwing a bottle at her. Y’all love making up stuff to fill in the blanks, but when presented with actual facts you don’t believe it.

@newnative – Did she extend her invitation to park in her driveway before or after she reported the trailer for being illegally parked? LOL. She realized how bad this could look so of course she made the “political” move offer up her driveway. What a joke.

Any yes, this whole thing doesn’t pass the smell test.

Sorry, but this doesn’t pass my sniff test. A woman who is 10 weeks pregnant buys a garbage filled RV trailer for $1 to clean it out and live in it? After you fill a trailer with garbage like that you can’t really get it clean now can you? Reports are that a U-Haul truck towed it there and left it, so somebody paid at least $200 or so to move it and had good enough credit to rent a U-Haul. But this supposedly wasn’t the trailer’s final resting spot, so there would have to be another truck rental for another couple of hundred dollars. I know we are living in desperate times but none of this behavior is logical. Congratulations to Lisa Herbold for doing the right thing by sharing her driveway in whatever manner she did but this still feels like a political stunt by the previously accused parties.

Pier 1 on Harbor Ave. and adjacent properties would be a great project for West Seattle.
Perhaps Mayfly Engineering could do something with this property for the benefit of West Seattle.

I love this. Sorry not sorry but they should park one or more of these every single day until these city council members wake up and let SPD do it’s job.

Hey @WSB why literally no coverage of this? Seems like biased reporting IMHO, if you look up Herbold on the site everything is pretty overwhelmingly positive. . .

Am surprised WSB did not cover this story or they rather cover soft news like the opening of a supermarket.

Boiling point: Who towed garbage-filled RV to council member’s house?

    OCTOBER 9, 2019 AT 3:52 PM
    1 / 3
UPDATE: The Dori Monson Show may have found out who towed the RV, but additional fact-checking is required before the tip can be confirmed. Tune into the show at noon on Thursday to find out the latest.

Things are getting fast and furious in Seattle. My show prep blew up Wednesday morning when a Seattle Times reporter called our news desk and informed us that last night someone towed an RV in front of Seattle City Councilmember Lisa Herbold’s house.

KIRO Radio Reporter Carolyn Ossorio went to the scene in West Seattle and observed that the RV was uninhabitable and filled with garbage, emitting an odor.

“It’s the perfect vehicle for somebody who is wanting to prove a point,” she told us.

My stupid lab is sweet and loves people. She’d help a burglar clean out my house. She does love kids. I also keep her leashed, genius.

I know that critical reading isn’t one of your skills, gxnx, but try to keep up. My point was that, in terms of problems on Alki, my dog is way safer and cleaner than people.

There are crappy dog owners, yes, though I believe that the vast majority of us are responsible owners who clean up after our dogs and keep them leashed, you just don’t notice them because we’re responsible. There are crappy people, too, and you’ll just have to come up with a way to live with them (or me if you wish). So, my advice for you is to suck it up, buttercup. Life ain’t fair and the rules aren’t written to suit you. Learn how to flex and pick your battles and you’ll have a better life.

“My dog doesn’t leave garbage strewn about. My dog doesn’t stab or shoot anyone. My dog doesn’t accost anyone. My dog is also always leashed, even when she’s swimming.”

Oh you forgot to mention, your dog is super friendly, loves kids and does not bite……….ha ha

I was attacked by a German Sheppard at LP near the gas station a couple years ago and the owner just took off.
There are owners letting their dogs run loose on the Solstice Park and when you walked into the open space, the dogs just chased you.
My neighbor let his dog loose at nite and I got videos to prove it. Poop in front of the lawn outside the house.
    Cats too!!

Encourage away, Skeeter. For my part, though, this isn’t “part of the problem”. The problem is more global. My problem is that when I change my behavior then the system changes. I lower my electricity usage so my rates go up. I limit my fuel usage through more efficient means of transportation or walking/cycling but I pay more and more in fuel taxes on what I do use. I call the cops but they don’t bother to show up. The list goes on…so, I take my dog to the little pocket beaches so she can enjoy the water, too. I don’t feel guilty about it. I don’t care what other people think about it. If you want to view it as a discourtesy that’s your problem. I’m not hurting anyone and my dog is cleaner than most people on the beach, even if she poops, since I clean it up immediately. My dog doesn’t leave garbage strewn about. My dog doesn’t stab or shoot anyone. My dog doesn’t accost anyone. My dog is also always leashed, even when she’s swimming.

So, I’ll keep doing what I do. If you don’t like it that’s fine. just don’t expect me to agree with you or care about your opinion if you chose to accost me.
