PARENTS, FRIENDS, AND ALL OF THE ABOVE:

We’ve got a special opportunity for you! We know parenting (and life, in general!) can be hard during these times, so we are looking to offer 3 hour Guest Helper shifts at Rebellyous Foods, a West Seattle start-up, to work around family care and allow you to hangout and work with like-minded friends for a bit. We’d love your help over at Rebellyous, and we want to make it easy for you to come join us! Even better, we are a fully vaccinated workplace and all staff are fully masked at all times, so you have the comfort of going home to kids who might be unvaccinated.

    So, here’s the deal:
To meet extraordinary demand at Rebellyous Foods, we are looking for great, mission-dedicated people to come help out on a short-term basis (even just a week or two if you can spare a bit of free time). The world is truly ready to replace chicken on a large scale, and we are heeding the call to keep up with the demand! And we need your help and we’d love to have you join us!
We need wonderful, kind, and thoughtful people (just like you) interested in coming to help in our production facility in West Seattle for 1/2 day (4 hours) or full day shift (whichever you’d like) over the next few weeks, temporarily. It could be one-day or 5 days a week — your choice, we’d just love to see your smiling faces on the production floor!

    Here’s what you’d be doing:
Helping our production team with light-duty tasks! You will be measuring ingredients, scooping dough, putting product in packages with the team, helping out with dishes, making boxes, and generally helping out on the floor with like-minded friends!

Shifts available between 8 AM to 5 PM for 3-4 hours each. We ask you to get a Washington State Food Worker Card (super easy!) and you’d be trained on basic food safety and facility safety when you arrive at HQ. You’d be paid as an employee of Rebellyous. You can schedule only the shifts that work for you — so lots of flexibility. You will be wearing production-grade clean or new boots, smocks, and hairnets provided by Rebellyous.

Here’s what we need from you:
You need to be able to stand or walk around for the full 3-4 hours with rest breaks. Granola bars and fruit provided for breaks. You will need to be able to do some light lifting and bending. Again, you need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We ask that you commit to just a few or more shifts in the next few weeks.

We would love to have you come work with us for this short stint! It’s going to be tons of fun, and you get to see the plant-based meat industry in action first hand changing the meat industry.

We can’t wait to welcome you to the team!

Email us at apply@rebellyous.com with your interest and your schedule.

I don’t normally like to recommend do-it-yourself when someone asks for professional help, but depending on your situation, this could be an unusually cheap and easy DIY project. If you have your router close to your TV, you just need to buy an Ethernet cable from almost anywhere– even the hardware store in the Junction has them– and connect the cable to the jack that looks like a big telephone jack on the back of your TV to the same jack on your Wifi router. That’s it, and unless you have something crazy going on, your TV will detect the internet automatically.

If you still want a pro or want to do something like run a cable behind a wall, then I think that even the worst electrician could do it in 15 minutes.

    West Seattle Runner is hiring!
Looking for someone who loves to run and loves to talk about running. You don’t need anything but a passion for the sport, we will teach you everything else. A retail background would be great, but it isn’t necessary. Your job will be to sell shoes and apparel, stock shelves, keep the store clean, and help customers find the right product. Be able to start and hold a conversation, as that is absic skill for sales. Shy, wall flower types will probably not like the atmosphere, as we are a talkative, engaging group that likes customer interactions.

Please drop off a resume in person at the store. We do not respond to emailed resumes unless we have directed you to send it.
Interviews start this week. If you have questions, please drop in and ask them.

My television viewing (Netflix/YouTube) is often compromised with slow loading, buffering etc. It was suggested that I hook up my television (older Smart TV) directly to the router/modem with an Ethernet cable rather than wireless which I’m currently using, (I want to keep my cable so that I can also watch regular TV). I’m looking for recommendations on who I might hire to do this for me.
    Thank you.

The park is right next to the high school. I really dont know the history/origins or which came first but it seems to me that the “playfeild” was made with these kids in mind. Sounds like they have to dodge you while you run in their playspace.
Yes i know its not theirs but its not yours either like you claimed. Its everybodys and if you cant handle them being there then idk what to tell you cus they arent trying to ruin your day like you make it out to be

I already gave examples. There are trails in Hiawatha for bike riding, there are playgrounds, there are fields and there is the Alki Bike trail that surrounds us. The track is one of the very few places that a person can run and feel relatively safe from cars, bikes.

It’s not evasive newnative, it’s a solution. Your rant, while all good points as this should not be happening, is happening because there is no place for them to do this. Tell us 4 trails around the north side of west seattle (nearish to Hiawatha) that is not on streets as no one loves to bike on streets with cars whizzing by, that these kids could ride their bikes? Or maybe give me 3 places in the area that folks can bring their dogs off leash? The track is not ideal for them, I get it, but it’s the only flat/non grassy area around.

Remember when stores put up signs “no skateboarding”? This never worked. Then someone got the genius idea, “what if we give the skateboarders a place of their own to skate”. Whatya know, I rarely see skateboarders in store parking lots anymore as they’re all down at the Delridge skate park or the other one near Target. Not all but most.

While it is illegal and I hate having to deal with bikes and dogs at Hiawatha too, no one is making alternatives. Seattle has created too much density and not enough open space, so the high school shares this park with everyone in the community. It’s busy, I get it, this stuff shouldn’t happen, but the police have bigger problems to deal with so rather than slap people on the wrist, come up with a real, viable solution.

That’s an evasive reply, susieq29 when there are bike lanes, bike paths and other trails for riding wheeled vehicles. There are alternatives, even in the park. I should not have to dodge bike-riding teens, dog poop, dogs, toddlers not in arm’s length of their parents, or soccer moms in chairs on a running track.
