St. Patrick’s Day Street Tree Mulching in Roxbury
Saturday, March 17th 10 am-2 pm

Go Green this St. Patrick’s Day by joining the Tree Ambassadors as we mulch young trees along 34th Ave SW. Removing grass along the base of the tree and applying a ring of woodchips helps our trees retain moisture, protects the trunk, and looks good. The trees that we will be mulching along 34th were planted a few years ago by the City of Seattle and we are going to give them some TLC for providing the Roxbury neighborhood with shade and clean air.

PLEASE REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT so we can make sure we have enough supplies and treats at www.forterra.org/events

What to bring: Please wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get dirty and bring a filled water bottle. All tools, gloves, materials and an end-of-event treat will be provided.

Where to meet: Meet at the intersection of SW Cloverdale St and 34th Ave SW

Questions: contact Katie at volunteer@forterra.org

Tree Ambassador is a program of the City of Seattle and Forterra that empowers residents to become stewards of the urban forest and serve as resources for their local community. To learn more about this program visit: http://www.seattle.gov/trees
