Urban Forest Restoration and Forest Bathing at Westcrest Park
Saturday, August 22, 9 am-12 pm
Registration LinkJoin Dirt Corps and Green Seattle Partnership for a forest bathing walk and then dive in and help us care for this section of the West Duwamish Greenbelt. We’ll be going on a walk through the denser canopy areas, enjoy some quiet and clean air. We’ll then care for our restoration area by applying mulch around the native plants and trees, removing weeds, and performing other important landscape maintenance. All ages and skill levels are welcome!

Fallin’ for Fungi Celebration and Restoration at Westcrest Park
Saturday, September 12, 10 am-1 pm
Registration LinkJoin Dirt Corps and Green Seattle Partnership as we’re Fallin’ for Fungi and caring for Westcrest trails. We’ll learn a bit about the fungi in our forest and how they interact with their ecosystem and its health. We’ll then remove non-native weeds such as blackberry from around plants and bare ground to help the native plants there grow and thrive and to make way for new native plantings in the spring. All ages and skill levels are welcome!
Tree Care Skill Share and Riparian Forest Restoration at Longfellow Creek
Saturday, September 19, 10 am-1 pm
Registration LinkJoin Trees for Neighborhoods and Dirt Corps for our upcoming tree care skill share and volunteer work party along Longfellow Creek! We will learn how to identify local trees and celebrate their many social, ecological, and health benefits. We’ll then remove harmful weeds from around the mature trees at this site so they can continue to thrive and support the well-being of this critical riparian ecosystem and their neighbors (all of us!). All ages and skill levels are welcome!
Tree Care Skill Share and Wetland Restoration at Webster Pond
Saturday, September 26, 10 am-1 pm
Registration LinkJoin Trees for Neighborhoods and Dirt Corps for our next tree care skill share and volunteer work party at Webster Pond! This work party will include a skill share about harmful weeds, their history, how they relate to the ecosystem, and how best to remove them to allow our trees and native plants to thrive. We’ll then practice these skills while caring for the trees in this special wetland ecosystem. All ages and skill levels are welcome!
