6:56 AM: Good morning.
FERRY ALERT: The Kittitas is still out of the mix on the Fauntleroy/Vashon/Southworth route, so that’s meant more cancellations – updates are here.
7:35 AM: Kittitas has returned to service.
8 AM: Stalled bus on NB 99 exit pre-tunnel.
That’s the advice from Andy, who just emailed to say traffic heading out of downtown is so bad, “I got on the 56 bus 45 minutes ago at 3rd & Seneca and we are only in Pioneer Square. 45 minutes to go 2 miles.” We’ve heard about the delays here at West Seattle Summer Fest, from people who have been waiting for friends to join them here. We’re not seeing any one big incident, just a variety of factors.

Another reminder that the streets in the heart of The Junction are closed for West Seattle Summer Fest through late Sunday night – the festival ends at 5 pm Sunday, but breakdown/cleanup usually continues for several hours beyond that.
-California SW is closed between SW Genesee and SW Edmunds except for SW Oregon, which remains open to east-west traffic
-SW Alaska is closed between 44th SW and 42nd SW
Bus reroutes (each route links to the Metro PDF explaining that specific reroute, with stop revisions):
–C Line
–Route 22
–Route 37
–Route 50
–Route 55
–Route 57

8:34 AM: Crash reported at Delridge/Holden, per dispatch – 2 vehicles, at least partly blocking, possible injuries.
9:18 AM: NB 99 alert:

6:55 AM: Good morning. We start with a crash blocking one lane EB and one WB from the Fauntleroy end of the bridge, around Nucor. Apparently no major injuries and a tow already has been ordered.
Two notes for later this week:
SUMMER FEST ROAD CLOSURES/BUS REROUTES: Tomorrow night (6-ish) through Sunday night, streets in the heart of The Junction will close so setup can start for West Seattle Summer Fest – SW Alaska between 42nd and 44th, California SW between SW Genesee and SW Edmunds (with SW Oregon remaining open for west-east traffic). Bus reroutes are now linked here.
HIGHWAY 99 WEEKEND WORK: If you will be using Highway 99 north of downtown this weekend, be aware of work on the Aurora Bridge.
7:26 AM: Per scanner, there’s a crash at 3rd SW/Olson.
7:30 AM: Per scanner, police are reopening all West Seattle Bridge lanes.
7:33 AM: Traffic camera confirms it.
7:35 AM: But now police have radioed that they’re checking out a “stalled vehicle” by the Delridge onramp.
7:48 AM: Updates – tows are on the way to the Olson scene; the vehicle having trouble will be escorted off the bridge by police so it can await a tow/assistance on 1st Ave. S.

6:57 AM: Good morning!
Alerts for this week:
AVALON/35TH PROJECT: The latest weekly update went out last Wednesday because of the holiday; among other key points, tonight’s work will include a water shutoff.
SUMMER FEST ROAD CLOSURES/BUS REROUTES: Thursday night (6-ish) through Sunday night, streets in the heart of The Junction will be closed for West Seattle Summer Fest – SW Alaska between 42nd and 44th, California SW between SW Genesee and SW Edmunds (with SW Oregon remaining open for west-east traffic). Metro hasn’t posted the bus reroutes yet but we’ll link them when available later this week, and they’ll be linked in our coverage throughout the festival too.
8:04 AM: SDOT reports a crash at Delridge/Holden blocking the NB lane.
8:30 PM: That SDOT image shows the north side of the 35th/Fauntleroy intersection at the southwest end of the West Seattle Bridge. A crash is partly blocking the intersection, so you will want to avoid the area for a while.
8:48 PM: The car that was blocking part of westbound Fauntleroy at the scene has been towed north and it appears the scene will clear soon. No major injuries.

6:57 AM: Good morning! For everybody who’s not getting a 4-day weekend, here’s how things look right now.
STADIUM ZONE: Mariners play the A’s at 7:10 pm.

2:50 PM: With the Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth run still down to two boats (Issaquah‘s been out with steering trouble since this morning), and the holiday getaway beginning, there’s a huge vehicle backup headed toward the dock – all the way to California/Fauntleroy, per both police and texters. WSF estimates the wait at 2 1/2 hours. The run is continuing to stay on the 3-boat schedule but all trips that would be the #2 boat are canceled TFN.
3:36 PM: Some good news – the Issaquah has just gone back into service, so the run is back to three boats.
5 PM: For everybody starting to call/text about the helicopter, just a TV chopper checking out the ferry traffic.

4TH OF JULY: If you plan to be on California SW in North Admiral on Thursday morning, remember the 4th of July Kids’ Parade will be crossing to finish at Hamilton Viewpoint Park. See the full route and other info on the parade website. … Yes, the West Seattle Water Taxi DOES run on the 4th!
8:01 AM: Crash on 4th near Royal Brougham.
9 AM: Thanks for the tips. Crash at 15th/16th/Henderson has taken out a pole and wires. Not seeing an SFD response logged so apparently no serious injuries. We’ll be heading over to find out more. Avoid the area.
9:27 AM: We got there just before the car was towed. Traffic in the area is moving again. … Now there’s an incident on SW Barton at Westwood Village, blocking westbound. We’re on the way to check on that.
9:32 AM: Barton blocked both ways and someone is getting medical attention. Separate story shortly. (UPDATE: That story is here.)
10:38 AM: The Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth route is down to 2 boats due to a steering problem with MV Issaquah.

Other notes:
STATE FERRIES’ SUMMER SCHEDULE: Now in effect. Doublecheck times here.
NEW WATER TAXI BICYCLE POLICY: Scheduled to start today – limits on size and number. Here’s the announcement.

7:20 AM: Metro messaging confirms that the buses that were routed off Avalon are all back on their normal routes.
10:39 PM: If you’re headed toward the 1st Avenue South Bridge any time soon, be aware that most of the northbound side is blocked by a collision reported to involve four vehicles, one on its side. No life-threatening injuries reported but it’s drawn a big emergency response.
12:42 AM: The camera shows the bridge is clear. SFD confirms injuries were minor.
