TRAFFIC/TRANSIT TODAY: Pre-holiday Wednesday; 15th/Henderson crash

(SDOT MAP with travel times/ Is the ‘low bridge’ closed? LOOK HERE/ West Seattle-relevant traffic cams HERE)

6:57 AM: Good morning. Notes for tonight and tomorrow:

STADIUM ZONE TONIGHT: Mariners game @ 7:10 pm vs. the Cardinals; fireworks follow.

4TH OF JULY: If you plan to be on California SW in North Admiral on Thursday morning, remember the 4th of July Kids’ Parade will be crossing to finish at Hamilton Viewpoint Park. See the full route and other info on the parade website. … Yes, the West Seattle Water Taxi DOES run on the 4th!

8:01 AM: Crash on 4th near Royal Brougham.

9 AM: Thanks for the tips. Crash at 15th/16th/Henderson has taken out a pole and wires. Not seeing an SFD response logged so apparently no serious injuries. We’ll be heading over to find out more. Avoid the area.

9:27 AM: We got there just before the car was towed. Traffic in the area is moving again. … Now there’s an incident on SW Barton at Westwood Village, blocking westbound. We’re on the way to check on that.

9:32 AM: Barton blocked both ways and someone is getting medical attention. Separate story shortly. (UPDATE: That story is here.)

10:38 AM: The Fauntleroy-Vashon-Southworth route is down to 2 boats due to a steering problem with MV Issaquah.

Everyone have a safe Fourth of July.

For you ferry travelers- the Issaquah is out of service on Triangle route- steering issues and not likely a quick fix.  Fauntleroy Way will be a mess this afternoon!  Be safe and patient out there today.  Happy Fourth!

I just added that above. Got an earlier tip but misread it and just realized it was NOT fixed. Thanks.

And yes it is a mess. Fauntleroy slow starting at Holly Street as of 2:15.

I missed the 15th/16th/Henderson blurb earlier (had *just* seen the separate article on the 26th & Barton incident). I got to the bus stop at 16th & Henderson right around 10:00 to head down to Westwood, actually. Saw the crew there and I think they were *just* setting up.  I didn’t realize there had been a crash there and figure they were just doing routine maintenance/repair.  They were still there when I got off the bus coming back at around 12:20.—Mike
