South Seattle Community College’s (WSB sponsor) WorkSource Center is pleased to announce eight free job workshops this winter. No registration is required, but seating may be limited and is on a first-come, first-served basis. All classes will meet on the South Seattle Community College campus. In the WorkSource office located in RSB 79.

Effective Résumés for the New Job Search
Come to this workshop if you want to learn what employers are looking for in a resume. This workshop focuses on developing a resume that will get past the 10-second screen and help you discover the keys to a successful resume. A resume template will be distributed that can be used in paper or electronic form.

Job Interview Basics
Do you have an upcoming job interview? In this workshop you will learn how to stand out as the best job candidate and successfully prepare for a job interview. The class focuses on common interview questions, body language, steps you can take to stand out from the crowd.
March 6th, 4:00-5:30 pm

Work for Yourself
Wondering how to start a business? You will learn where to go for help, the steps starting a business, and types of organizations. Other great information includes: how to do research, writing a business plan, insight into lenders perspectives when applying for business loans, and U.S. Small Business administration resources.
March 13th, 3:30-5:00 pm

Dependable StrengthsSign up is required for this special workshop.
In this workshop skills taught include; how to articulate your worth as an employer, being successful in interviews by conveying your worth and develop a report based on your strengths which describes you at your best.
March 15th, 9:00 am-4:00 pm

Midlife Career Changing in the New Economy
This course is designed to help participants analyze and understand the problem of ‘Ageism’, how age discrimination affects their job search and most importantly what they can do to empower themselves and find meaningful work in this difficult job market. Along with specific focus on job search skills and resources, there will be a special emphasis on “mid-life career changes” and “technology as a job search tool.”
