Gas-leak repair at Avalon/Genesee

Puget Sound Energy confirms that they’re repairing a gas-line leak on Genesee west of Avalon. Nearby residents says the leak was first noticed over the weekend. But it didn’t rise to a level requiring an emergency response, and PSE didn’t send a repair crew until today. The utility told us that no customers are affected; they’re still investigating the cause.

Interesting. I thought any gas leak would be considered an emergency.

I smelled gas this morning and was pretty worried about it, but I didn’t have time this morning to try to track it down or report it or anything. Very glad they are taking care of it, but if I could smell it from where I was standing it must have been a fairly serious leak…
