UPDATE: Crash at Roxbury/Olson

6:43 PM: Avoid Roxbury/Olson for a while – a crash is reported to have left a vehicle on its side. It’s on the eastbound side of Roxbury, per dispatch.

7:03 PM: Just checked out the scene. Adding photos. (Top photo is ours; photo above this line was sent by Mel – thanks!) The vehicle is on its side in the median on Roxbury just east of 5th. Traffic is getting by both ways, but slowly.

I came around this same corner, heading west, at about 4:40 or 4:45 and there was a white jeep facing east bound in the west bound left lane. Not sure if the jeep had been heading west and spun around or if they were east bound and jumped the median.

Please everyone – slow down now that the rain has returned.

And get off your phones! This morning I was behind a person with their phone mounted on the window just above right of their steering wheel. This driver was texting and swiping their phone non-stop while driving! and braking non-stop! because they didn’t know what the heck was going on in front of them.

Thanks for pointing out that people need to get off their phones. I see mounts like that all the time and don’t see how it’s legal to have your phone mounted in your FOV.

I agree. Both sides of the road are very slick. I have had my truck fishtail a couple of times and I wasn’t speeding. Seems a lot of vehicles have flipped over in that area.

First rain after a long dry spell = car body shop employment security.

That corner is super dangerous. Just the apex and the way its kind of banked wrong. One time I was heading westbound and it was wet out. I even slowed down a bit knowing its a bad turn. I still did a little wiggle. Luckily didn’t break all the way loose. If you’ve got a truck or an a top heavy SUV, slow down Better safe than sorry.

Sorry, comment time is over.
